Abstract:
The disclosure relates to an apparatus and associated methodology for processing flows. Data packets belonging to various flows are received by a device of a communications network and stored in a queue so as the device retransmits them. In order to re-transmit a data packet, a flow is selected, to which the least memory space in the queue is allocated. A packet from the selected flow is retransmitted and extracted from the queue, and when the memory space available in the queue does not allow a received packet to be stored. Further a flow is selected to which the most memory space in the queue is allocated and a data packet of the selected flow is eliminated from the queue.
Abstract:
A method for collection of flow descriptions for flows relating to at least one client network, the client network being attached to an interconnection network. The method receives flow descriptions for flows coming from the client network, aggregates the flow descriptions for the flows coming from the client network as a function of an aggregation criterion, transmits the aggregated flow descriptions to a collection device, analyzes the flow descriptions for the flows coming from the client network to determine at least one flow characteristic specific to the client network, receives flow descriptions for flows coming from the interconnection network, filters the flow descriptions for the flows coming from the interconnection network, in which the flow descriptions for flows lacking the at least one determined flow characteristic specific to the client network are eliminated, and transmits the filtered flow descriptions to the collection equipment.
Abstract:
The on-demand multimedia service is provided on the basis of multimedia data sources (3) each comprising at least one program stream. The program stream of a source is converted into a transport stream transmitted to a user terminal along a first channel by way of a telecommunication network. Packets describing elements overlayable on a video component of the transport stream are furthermore extracted from the program stream. In response to a request originating from the user terminal, the service platform converts at least one of the packets describing overlayable elements into a data page returned to the user terminal along a second channel different from the first channel by way of the telecommunication network. On receipt of the data page at the user terminal, the overlayable elements are recovered and displayed in overlay with the video component of the transport stream.
Abstract:
A method of assisting with the construction of a tree of clusters of electronic documents, the documents being defined by predetermined attributes. The method includes, for a given cluster of documents and a given level of the tree, the following steps: a) obtaining (E300) constraints defined between at least two documents of said cluster and storing those constraints; b) constructing (E310) subclusters as a function of the constraints obtained and the attributes of the documents of said cluster; c) creating (E320) a tree level corresponding to the subclusters created; and d) selecting (E340) a created subcluster and iterating the steps a), b), c) and d) for the selected subcluster until said tree is obtained. A device for implementing the method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A cryptographic device and a cryptographic method of generating pseudo-random numbers. Initial data is divided into a plurality of words on b bits defined in a finite body GF(2b). The words are assigned to cells of a state table to form an initial state block. The cells of the state table are grouped to assign a group of cells to each set of d/b words, where d is a multiple of b strictly greater than b. And, a succession of state blocks is iteratively generated from the initial state block to form a final state block, so that on each iteration each set of d/b words of a current state block is replaced by another set of d/b words to form a next state block using a reference table including substitution elements on d bits.
Abstract:
A portable device, a terminal, a system, and a method of storing data relating to transactions by terminals (1) of merchants in portable loyalty devices (3) of customers of at least one group comprising at least one merchant, said transaction being stored by the terminal (1) of said merchant in the portable device (3) by executing the following steps in any order: storing a first record corresponding to said transaction encrypted with an encryption key (C1) of the customer; and storing a second record corresponding to said transaction encrypted with a key (M1) associated with said group to which said merchant belongs.
Abstract:
The invention relates in particular to a method of adjusting power spectral densities of a plurality of telecommunications lines sending data in a plurality of frequency sub-bands, a power spectral density being assigned to each sub band sending data. The method comprises the following steps: selecting at least one line, called the donor line, whose capacity for sending data is higher than a predetermined reference capacity, selecting at least one sub band of said donor line, and reducing the power spectral density assigned to the selected sub band to a predefined minimum power level in said sub band.
Abstract:
A method of updating a user presence status at at least one terminal connected to a telecommunications network, on the basis of presence status information provided by at least one status source of said terminal. The presence status is determined during an aggregation step comprising collecting a plurality of unit presence probability values provided by a plurality of status sources associated with said terminal; and calculating an aggregated presence status probability resulting from a linear combination of said unit presence probability values.
Abstract:
A document management system including a repository for storing electronic documents, a portable display for displaying an electronic document stored in the portable display, a folder adapted to physically receive the portable display. The repository may include a digital representation of the folder. The system may link in the repository the electronic document with the digital representation when the portable display is received in the folder. The system takes advantage of the physicality of the folder and the display with an added indexing, i.e. filing, resulting from the insertion. The portable display may be an electronic-paper display. The repository may be arranged to store the at least one electronic document in the digital representation when the portable display is received in the folder. The electronic document may be sent to the repository for storage in association with the digital representation of the folder.
