Abstract: Techniques discussed herein can facilitate transmission and reception of group common PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) for NR (New Radio). One example embodiment employable by a UE (User Equipment) comprises processing circuitry configured to: process higher layer signaling that configures a set of combinations for slot formats for the UE; detect, via blind decoding on at least a portion of a control resource set, a DCI (Downlink Control Information) message that indicates a combination for slot formats of the set of combinations for slot formats via a SFI (slot format indicator); and determine a slot format for one or more slots based on the indicated combination for slot formats, wherein the slot format indicates, for each symbol of the one or more slots, whether that symbol is DL (Downlink), UL (Uplink), or a flexible symbol in the slot format.

Abstract: An apparatus configured to be employed in a user equipment (UE) associated with a new radio (NR) communication system is disclosed. The apparatus comprises one or more processors configured to process a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduling signal, received from a gNodeB associated therewith, wherein the PDSCH scheduling signal is configured to schedule a transmission of PDSCH. In some embodiments, the PDSCH scheduling signal comprises a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state indicative of a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) resource that is triggered aperiodically. In some embodiments, the apparatus is further configured to determine a receive (Rx) beam to be utilized for the reception of the scheduled PDSCH transmission, that forms a PDSCH Rx beam, based on the indicated CSI-RS resource.

The method includes: decoding a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) from a Node B, the PDCCH scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH); determining at least one of a control resource set (CORESET) index or a starting control channel element (CCE) index of the PDCCH; decoding the PDSCH; determining, based the at least one of the CORESET index or the CCE index, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource to carry hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment (ACK) (HARQ-ACK) feedback corresponding to the PDSCH to the Node B; and causing transmission of the HARQ-ACK feedback based on the PUCCH resource.

Abstract: Devices and methods of reducing overall Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) of user equipment (UE) using a large amount of carrier aggregation are generally described. The UE may receive a subframe from an enhanced NodeB (eNB). The subframe may contain a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) formed in accordance with a Downlink Control information (DCI) format. The DCI format may comprise a Downlink Assignment Index (DAI) for Time Division Duplexed (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplexed (FDD) operation. The UE may determine, dependent on the DAI, a number and ordering of Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) bits to be transmitted on a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) and subsequently transmit the HARQ-ACK bits.

Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) using a self-contained scheduling resource to communicate with an eNodeB within a wireless communication network is disclosed. The UE can select, at the UE, a selected eNodeB transmission (Tx) beam and a selected UE reception (Rx) beam based on a highest power beamforming reference signal (BRS) received power (BRS-RP). The UE can signal a transceiver of the UE to transmit to the eNodeB a scheduling request (SR), using the selected Rx beam, on a scheduling request (SR) resource in a self-contained subframe according to a time and frequency location of the selected eNodeB Tx beam. The UE can process an advanced physical downlink control channel (xPDCCH), received from the eNodeB, for an uplink (UL) grant using the selected UE RX beam.
