Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the calcining and manufacturing of synthetic pozzolan with desirable color properties. Feed material is dried, crushed, and preheated in a drier crusher. The dry, crushed material is collected and fed to a calciner where it is heated to become a synthetic pozzolan. The synthetic pozzolan is then fed to a cooler where it is maintained for a least a portion of the cooling step in a reducing atmosphere.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for drying and comminution of moist, mineral raw materials, including at least one of chalk, marl or clay. The moist, mineral raw material is dried and comminuted in a drier crusher while simultaneously supplying hot gases from a kiln system to form a dried material. The dried material in suspended form is directed to a first separator in which the dried material is separated into a coarse fraction and into a fine fraction. The fine fraction is directed to a separation cyclone and then to the kiln system. The coarse fraction is directed to a dosage means. The dosage means directs a first portion of the coarse material to the drier crusher and a second portion of the coarse material to a separate grinding unit where any hard material components, including at least one of flint, sand or marble, are subjected to grinding to form a ground material. At least a portion of the ground material from the separate grinding unit is supplied to the drier crusher. Also provided is an apparatus for conducting the method.
Abstract:
A method for repairing a crushing device or other device configured to comminute material includes the steps of removing at least one first insert from a portion of a crushing body such that at least one opening is formed in the portion of the crushing body, positioning at least one second insert in the at least one opening formed by the removing of the at least one first insert, positioning a force application mechanism adjacent to the at least one second insert and the portion of the crushing body, and actuating the force application mechanism to deform the portion of the crushing body to attach the at least one second insert to the portion of the crushing body. The one or more first inserts may be damaged and the one or more second inserts may be used to replace the one or more damaged first inserts. The force application mechanism is preferably explosive material. A method of forming a wearable surface is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A roller mill for grinding particulate material, such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials has a rotatable grinding table with a substantially vertical centerline and a number of rollers being configured for interactive operation with the grinding table and turning about separate roller shafts which are fixed to a rotatable center shaft with a substantially vertical centerline. The center shaft and the grinding table are fixed one to the rotor and the other to the stator of the same motor, which may have the capability of rotating both the grinding table and the center shaft.
Abstract:
Described is a rolling bearing (1) for a rocker arm, said rolling bearing comprising an at least partly circular outer part (2), an at least partly circular inner part (3) and a number of rolling elements (5) which are fitted between the outer part (2) and the inner part (3). The rolling bearing is peculiar in that at least one of the rolling elements (5) comprises two opposite, curved side faces (6, 7), which viewed in at least one cross-sectional constitutes arc lengths of the same imaginary circle (10), and which constitutes contact faces for the outer and the inner circular part (2, 3) respectively, and at least one side surface (8, 9), which lies within the mentioned imaginary circle (10).It is hereby obtained that the number of rolling elements in the bearing can be increased, thereby reducing the load on each single rolling element subject to the same total load rate, thereby increasing the total load bearing capacity of the bearing. This is due to the fact that at least a part of the roller face of the traditional circular rollers which do not get into contact with the outer or inner part of the bearing through small reciprocating angular rotations is omitted thereby significantly reducing the space taken up by each of the rolling elements in the circumferential direction of the bearing.
Abstract:
A milling device includes a grinding member, a table, a plurality of actuators and a controller. The table has a grinding surface. The table is positioned adjacent to the grinding member such that the grinding surface faces toward at least a portion of the grinding member. The table and the grinding member at least partially define a grinding chamber sized and configured to receive material. Each actuator is connected to the grinding member such that movement of that actuator causes at least a portion of the grinding member to move from a raised position to a lowered position to grind the material. The controller is connected to the actuators and is configured to cause the actuators to move in a sequence that causes the grinding member to wobble as the grinding member is moved by the actuators to grind material.
Abstract:
Described is a method as well as an apparatus for vacuum cooling of food produce through moisture removal, which method comprising the steps of loading the food produce to be cooled into a vacuum chamber, lowering the pressure inside the vacuum chamber to a predetermined pressure level and maintaining the vacuum chamber at this predetermined pressure level both by removing air through a vacuum pump system for a sufficient of time to allow heat transfer out of the food produce to take place, and condensing water vapor inside the vacuum chamber through a refrigeration system. The method and apparatus is unique in that the step of lowering the pressure inside the vacuum chamber to the predetermined pressure level is carried out using a single stage vacuum pump and the step of maintaining the vacuum chamber at this predetermined pressure level is carried out using a two stage vacuum pump. There is obtained a significant energy saving, which mainly is caused by splitting up the pressure lowering and maintaining steps into two distinct phases in which specifically sized vacuum pumps are used to most efficiently draw the required vacuum during the cooling process. Thus, the single stage vacuum pump used for the pressure lowering step has no high pressure stage that is idling during this step, meaning there is a net power saving or alternatively an increase in performance. Further, the two stage vacuum pump maintaining the pressure in the vacuum chamber for the required duration may be very small having very low displacement and thus low power consumption. In addition, splitting up the pressure lowering and maintaining steps into two distinct phases makes it possible to operate more vacuum chambers simultaneously in any combination, i.e. where some vacuum chambers are in the pressure lowering step others may be in the pressure maintaining step.
Abstract:
A roller press (1) is described for grinding particulate material such as cement raw materials, cement clinker and similar materials, the roller press having two oppositely rotating rollers (2, 3) with one roller being movably supported relative to the other roller and with the rollers (2, 3) forming between them a roller gap (4). A co-rotating annular disc is attached to one of the rollers (2), which subject to actuation by a number of springs (7), is movable in the direction of the roller axis and which, in the area around the roller gap (4,) extends over the end surface (3a) of the other roller. The annular disc is divided into a number of ring sectors (5) over its circumference, each individually biased by springs towards the end surface (3a) of the other roller (3). Hence, it is possible to maintain the grinding bed thickness at the ends of the rollers, thereby attaining a uniform pressure distribution across the rollers, as well as uniform grinding efficiency and uniform wear on the rollers.
