摘要: A method for preparing a cementing material by sintering and activating coal gangue is provided. The method includes the following steps: (1) crushing coarse-grained coal gangue to predetermined particle size; (2) fully and evenly mixing the crushed coal gangue, the composite additive and water according to a set proportion, and granulating the obtained mixture; (3) distributing, igniting and exhausting the granulated pellets in the sintering machine to obtain decarburized coal gangue sinter; (4) cooling the decarburized coal gangue sinter in a cooler; (5) crushing and finely grinding the cooled coal gangue sinter to obtain a coal gangue active mixture; and (6) mixing the coal gangue active admixture, the fly ash, the quicklime and the gypsum according to a predetermined ratio, and then carrying out injection moulding, mold removal and curing to obtain the coal gangue-based cementitious material.

摘要: Systems and methods for beneficiating a recovered fly ash material and/or recovering fly ash from an impound site are described. The method may include thermally treating a first portion of a recovered fly ash material to form a thermally treated fly ash having a first temperature of at least 1000° F., and contacting the thermally treated fly ash with a second portion of the recovered fly ash material to cool the thermally treated fly ash to a second temperature of less than or equal to 500° F. and form a fly ash product. The fly ash product may have a carbon content less than 8% by weight, based on the total dry weight of the fly ash product.

摘要: Methods for increasing the hardness of aggregate include applying a hardener to the aggregate. The hardener may react with a material of the aggregate and/or a material on a surface of the aggregate. For example, an alkali metal silicate, such as lithium polysilicate, or a colloidal silica may chemically react with calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide of an aggregate or on an aggregate to create cementitious material, which may at least partially fill pores in the surface of the aggregate, harden an existing microtexture of the aggregate and/or enhance the microtexture of the aggregate. These characteristics may enhance frictional characteristics, the wear characteristics and the durability of the aggregate, and of any structures formed from composite materials that include the aggregate.
