    摘要: A removable handle for a surgical light fixture includes a tubular handle, a circular shield, and a threaded portion. The circular shield includes two living hinges which permit the shield to be folded down against the handle for storage. A plurality of tabs are disposed on the lower face of the shield, and a matching indentation is formed on the lower end of the handle, to enable two handles to be frictionally engaged together by engaging the tabs of one handle with the indentations of the other. The handle is attached to a light fixture by means of an adapter which includes at least one projecting portion which presses against and deforms the circular shield and prevent the living hinges from hinging, thereby causing the folding portions of the circular shield to be held rigidly in place while the handle is attached to the light fixture.

    摘要: A safety device for a medical/surgical needle has a needle retainer in a chassis within a housing. The needle retainer includes a spring pushing a gripping wheel against walls of the chassis. The needle retainer allows a needle point to enter into the chassis, but prevents withdrawal of the needle. A cover slidably positioned over the housing has a conical opening with internal splines. After the needle point is captured within the housing, the cover is moved, as far as is necessary, depending upon the length of the needle, to engage the needle hub. The cover is then turned to unwind the needle from its syringe, while the needle point is safely captured within the housing.

    摘要: A disposable electrode assembly for contacting a patient and for receiving electrical signals from at least one remotely located electrode, the remotely located electrode having leads. The electrode assembly has a thin, flexible, leg plate with a bottom surface contacting the patient without adhesive. At least two triangular-shaped springs are carried by the leg plate for electrically and mechanically connecting the leads from the remotely located electrode to the leg plate. At least two latches, each adapted to snap over one of the triangular-shaped springs, provide an audio indication of flap closure and keep a flap closed over each of the triangular-shaped springs. A reference electrode electrically contacts the patient through a skin-contacting surface when the electrode assembly is secured to the patient. The reference electrode is electrically coupled to, but mechanically decoupled from, the leg plate. Separate, insulated wires electrically engage the springs and the reference electrode. The wires are joined in a cord providing electrical connection to an external monitoring device. An attachment member secures the electrode assembly to the patient.

A pigmented primer layer may completely cover the matte sealant layer and be completely covered by the bonder layer. A hardening layer and an anti-oxidant layer may completely cover the photopolymer layer. A method of manufacturing the seamless, trilaminate, photopolymer cylindrical printing plate is also provided. The wall thickness of the seamless, trilaminate, photopolymer cylindrical printing plate can be varied as desired to achieve different cylindrical repeat sizes, especially by controlling the thickness of the seamless trilaminate cylindrical sleeve, the thickness of the photopolymer layer, or both thicknesses.

    摘要: A disposable marker apparatus for use with low torque recorders includes a bifurcated body with two separate ink reservoirs in the first and second body segments interconnected by a connector segment. The connector segment includes an ink transmitting member. A stylus tube extends from the body. A pivot member is provided to engage an associate pivot support outwardly from said pen body. A substantial portion of the mass of the marker is below the connector segment and the pivot member. The result is a marker having a center of gravity below the pivot so that the swinging marker tends to stabilize after disturbance due to vibration or rapid marker excursion.

    摘要: A disposable biomedical electrode which includes a vaulted dome-like electrolyte-containing chamber or cavity bridged at its open bottom by a highly flexible and conformable microporous membrane, the latter being covered with an adhesively-secured protective film the film being strippable preparatory to adhesively securing the electrode to a body surface. The electrode material and shape are such that the vaulted housing is physically distortable upon downward pressure applied thereto, thereby to force the electrolyte to diffuse through the microporous membrane into positive and low-electrical-resistance contact with the skin surface of a subject. Concurrently, the internal volume of the electrolyte-containing chamber having been materially reduced, the housing maintains a positive, resilient, sustained pressure of electrolyte against the skin surface ensuring enhanced, low-impedance electrical continuity between the skin of a subject and the electrode terminal, thereby to minimize objectionable disruptive variations in signal strength, and to ensure instantaneous electrical response and rapid stabilization, enhanced through an improved electrode-electrolyte system. The electrode is further characterized in the utilization of a thixotropic electrolyte which simplifies manufacturing procedures and extends shelf life, and in the incorporation of a proteolytic agent and a surfactant in the electrolyte to improve electrical contact between the electrolyte and the signal-emitting body surface.
