Abstract: A device for administering a fluid medicament by injection comprises a dosing portion (1) with a collapsible reservoir (10). The reservoir (10) has a maximum volume in an extended state and a minimum volume in a collapsed state. Prior to injection, the reservoir (10) is in the extended state and contains a liquid to be administered, and the reservoir (10) is biased towards the collapsed state. The device further comprises a needle (2), wherein a lumen (20) of the needle (2) is in fluid communication with the reservoir (10). The device further comprises a shield portion (3) with a plug (30). Prior to injection, the shield portion (3) is in a deployed position where the plug (30) blocks the lumen (20) of the needle (2). The shield portion (3) is adapted to move in response to an actuation force from the deployed position to a retracted position where the lumen (20) of the needle (2) is open, thereby causing the reservoir (10) to shift to the collapsed state to expel the liquid through the needle.

Abstract: An assembly of the present invention for a syringe includes a piercing needle-attached barrel having a barrel body and a hollow piercing needle fixed to the barrel body and a seal cap for sealing a piercing needle tip. The seal cap has a hollow part and a pierceable part into which the piercing needle tip inserted into the hollow part can be pierced. The seal cap is water vapor permeable and placed in a state in which the piercing needle tip has been pierced into the pierceable part. At least the pierceable part of the seal cap is formed of an elastic material containing silicone rubber as a main material thereof, silicone particles, and a lubricant.

Abstract: A safety device for a medical injector supporting a needle projecting forwardly from the front of the injector has a tubular sleeve slidable rearwardly to expose at least the tip of a supported needle. The sleeve has a forward end for contacting an injection site and a removable cover for the needle is attached to the forward end of the sleeve. The sleeve has an external end face lying in a radial plane and having an orifice through which a needle projects when the sleeve slides rearwardly. The removable cover effects a seal to the forward end of the sleeve. Alternatively, the cover may frictionally engage the forward end of the sleeve or the cover may have a bore into which an enlargement member may be pressed so as to expand the cover within the sleeve and connect the cover to the sleeve.

Abstract: An object is to provide a syringe that is capable of preventing a cap from being mounted to a syringe body at an oblique angle. The cap (130) is arranged so that the boot (120) can be connected to the cap (130) simply, but cannot be removed from the cap (130). The housing (112) and cap (130) are arranged so that upon rotation of the cap (130), the cap (130) is moved axially away from the housing (112) and the boot (120) is removed from the syringe (114). Abstract: Plunger systems for expelling a liquid drug from a drug container within a wearable drug delivery device are provided. A rotation system coupled to a plunger rotates the plunger about a central axis of the plunger to overcome a static friction between the plunger and the drug container. After rotating the plunger, a drive system moves the plunger forward into the drug container to expel the liquid drug for delivery to the patient. A collapsible plunger includes a cavity. A radial torsion spring positioned in the cavity can provide an outward radial force on the collapsible plunger. The cavity enables the collapsible plunger to compress radially when entering and passing through a region of a drug container having a relatively narrower width. The radial torsion spring can radially expand the collapsible plunger when entering and passing through a region of the drug container having a relatively wider width.

Abstract: A medical injector including a cap remover or second cap is disclosed.
