摘要： A surgical light that uses multiple LEDs to produce superior illumination. Heat sinks are used to help dissipate heat produced from the LEDs. The light from the LEDs is directed, using collimizers, into fiber optic cables. The fiber light from the optic cables, using an LED combiner, is then combined and focused on a working area. The LED combiner may include an adjustable lens so that the device's illumination may be focused at multiple focal distances and with varied areas of illumination. The LEDs may be powered by a battery and may comprise one or more red LEDs, one or more blue LEDs, and one or more green LEDs. The surgical light may be used configured for use with headlamps, surgical scopes and the like.

A substantially transparent cover removably locks onto the base, defining a substantially water-tight protective cover over the insert. The apparatus includes an attaching structure on the opposite surface, configured to temporarily, removably connect the apparatus to one of a plurality of party items, e.g., cups, plates, straws, hats, ornaments, a string of holiday lights, or the like. The apparatus can be removed from the decoration, the cover can be removed from the base by hand-manipulating the lock, and the same insert, or a different insert, can be inserted for use at the same party or a different party.

摘要： Skin disorders such as, for example, atopic dermatitis, dyshidrosis, eczema, lichen planus, psoriasis, and vitiligo, are treated by applying high doses of ultraviolet light to diseased regions of a patient's skin. The dosage exceeds 1 MED as determined for the particular patient and may range from about 1 MED to about 20 MED or higher. The ultraviolet light has a wavelength within the range of about 295 nanometers to about 320 nanometers. High doses of ultraviolet light are preferably restricted to diseased tissue areas. A specialized handpiece provides a beam profile especially suitable for application of controlled doses. A specialized delivery device is useful for UV treatment of tissue within the mouth.

摘要： A surgical headlamp containing lamp housings, each containing multiple LED light sources is featured wherein the LEDs cooperate together to produce a light engine. The lamp housings may be adjusted so that light beams emitted by each LED be selectively converged through a focusing lens at a spot a predetermined distance in front of the lamp housings. Each lamp housing typically contains in addition to the LEDs, one or more focusing lenses to gather and direct the light generated by the LEDs forward to an illuminated work area. Batteries, preferably rechargeable, are mounted in a waist pack external to the headband, and are used to poser the LEDs. A cooling system for cooling the heat generated by the LED's is provided which utilizes a swirling effect of fluid adjacent a heat sink to transfer the heat to the swirling fluid.

The cable carrier is disposed in the support arm such that the cable carrier replicates upon itself to define a first run and a second run. The second end of the cable carrier is movable relative to the hub when the support arm rotates about the hub, wherein the first run shortens and the second run lengthens when the support arm rotates in a direction about the hub.

摘要： Disclosed in this specification is a luminaire with a vented iris controller disposed on the external surface of the housing of the luminaire. The controller is for dilating and constricting the iris, thus controlling the size of the illuminated spot, wherein the iris controller is comprised of a hollow cylinder, rotatable relative to the housing. The cylinder has an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein the inner ring and outer ring are connected by a plurality of braces and vented spaces are present between each of the braces. Advantageously, the vented spaces help keep the outer ring cool, thus facilitating the operation of the iris controller by a user.
