摘要： A tandem windshield wiper system that includes at least one brushless DC motor to provide drive torque through an output that is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the motor. A first windshield wiper assembly having a first lever arm is driven by the motor about the longitudinal axis in a repeated wiping motion across the surface of a windshield. A second windshield wiper assembly spaced apart from the first windshield wiper assembly has a second lever arm and is rotatable about a second longitudinal axis to operative move in a repeated wiping motion across the surface of the windshield. A connecting arm is also included that is operatively disposed between the first and the second lever arms that is adapted to translate the drive torque provided to the first windshield wiper assembly to the second windshield wiper assembly. The motor includes a planetary gear set having an output shaft. The gear set being coaxially disposed relative to the rotational output and the longitudinal axis of the motor and operatively interconnecting the drive torque to the first and the second windshield wiper assemblies.

摘要： The present invention relates to a wiper coupler and wiper assembly that includes a wiping element and a tournament-style superstructure to support the wiping element. The wiper assembly further includes a wiper coupler that releasably attaches the superstructure to a wiper arm attachment member. The wiper coupler includes a pair of sidewalls each having a flange to engage a portion of the guides of the attachment member and further includes an elevated platform and a deck each disposed between the sidewalls. The deck and a portion of the sidewalls define a rest to receive the track of the attachment member. The wiper coupler further includes an aperture between the elevated platform and the deck. The aperture receives a portion of the bent tab of the attachment member to facilitate attachment between the superstructure and the attachment member conventionally employed for use with a beam blade-style wiper assembly.

摘要： A windshield wiper assembly including at least one motor having an output shaft and a windshield wiper operatively connected to the output shaft. The motor includes a stator adapted to provide an electromagnetic flux and a rotor assembly supported for rotation about the stator. The rotor assembly includes a back iron and an annular magnet mounted to the back iron so as to be disposed in radially spaced relationship about the stator. The rotor assembly is operatively connected to the output shaft and responsive to electromagnetic flux generated by the stator so as to provide a rotational force to the output shaft to drive the windshield wiper in repeated wiping motion across the windshield.

A coil spring 38 acts between the two parts (11, 12), and a tail (40 ) of the spring couples the element (33) to the other part (12).

摘要： A brush support combination is provided for dynamo-electric machines in which brushes are continuously urged against a commutator or slip ring. Each brush is carried by a brush arm which is in turn supported on a lead terminal of the machine. The lead terminals may be supported on an open ended motor housing or on an end cap which closes the open ended housing. The brush arm is formed of electrically conductive, flat resilient stock which supports a brush at one end. The other end is formed into a bight, the free end of which projects outwardly. The bight extends through an opening in the lead terminal, entry to which may be achieved through a throat communicating with the opening. In use the bight resiliently engages the edges defining the opening to retain the brush arm and to provide electrical contact with the terminal.

摘要： A windshield wiper system has an articulating pivot for wiping a curved glass surface of a vehicle. The articulating pivot has a pivot shaft assembly (64) having a first pivot ball (160) separated by a distance from a second pivot ball (166). The pivot shaft assembly is encased in an outer housing (158) and each pivot ball is supported by a bearing. A pinion gear is integrated with one of the first pivot ball, the second pivot ball, and/or the pivot shaft. A rack gear is integrated into one of the bearings and/or the housing. Rotational movement of the pinion gear along the rack gear articulates the pivot shaft as the pivot shaft is rotated.

摘要： A stepped-designed beam arm wiper assembly has a beam arm that locks into a mounting head such that the beam arm can be disconnected from the mounting head for servicing a wiper blade attached to the beam arm. A head cover is attached to the mounting head via hinges on either side of the head cover which allow the head cover to open off the head on either pin hinges of the head, and can be pressed onto the head and retained on. The other end of the beam arm is inserted into an adapter which snaps onto a rear wiper blade coupler via lead-in hole and trunnion connection. The beam arm has an airfoil with a stepped design to match the head cover, adapter, and blade assembly stepped design.
