    摘要: An on-body injector includes a drug reservoir having an outlet. First and second pistons may be positioned within the reservoir, with the second piston first being moved to open the outlet, followed by the first piston being moved to convey a drug from the reservoir via the outlet. The reservoir may instead include a cover, with a valve positioned between the outlet and the cover. The valve is rotated to place a channel of the valve in fluid communication with a through-hole of the cover, allowing flow from the reservoir via the outlet. The reservoir may instead include a valve movable from a condition in which it deforms the outlet, preventing flow through the outlet, to a condition allowing flow. The reservoir may instead include a seal that is deformed by an increase in pressure within the reservoir, with the deformed seal being open to allow flow through the outlet.

    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for separating blood into two or more components. A blood separation system includes a blood separation device and a fluid flow circuit configured to be mounted to the blood separation device. The blood separation device includes a centrifugal separator and a spinning membrane separator drive unit incorporated into a common case, which allows for fluid separation by two different methods. Depending on the separation procedure to be carried out, the fluid flow circuit paired with the blood separation device may include only one separation chamber configured to be mounted to the centrifugal separator or spinning membrane separator drive unit or two separation chambers, with one being mounted to the centrifugal separator and the other to the spinning membrane separator drive unit. The system may be used to separate and collect any combination of red blood cells, plasma, and platelets.

    摘要: A needleless injection port assembly includes first and second body parts and a resilient barrier received within the body. A cannula attached to the first body part is received within an internal cavity of the resilient barrier. The resilient barrier is moveable between a less axially compressed first position in which fluid flow through the injection port assembly is prevented and a more axially compressed second position in which fluid flow through the assembly is allowed. An interference fit is provided between the resilient barrier and the cannula to seal against fluid flow through the cannula when the resilient barrier is in the first position. The cannula has an internal fluid passageway with a non-circular cross section providing increased fluid flow.
