    摘要: Provided is a moisture retention seal for use with a package. The moisture retention seal includes an opened-ended canister having a plurality of canister sealing surfaces. Snap-fitted with spatial interference to the canister at its opened-end, is a moisture retention closure having a plurality of closure sealing surfaces. Each canister sealing surface cooperates with a corresponding one of the closure sealing surfaces to form a plurality of partial seals. At least one of the partial seals includes a micro-bead surface comprising one or more small, inwardly directed, narrowly spaced-apart, micro-bead elements. The package that includes a moisture retention seal of the present invention employs only molded parts and does not require gaskets or secondary seals.

    摘要: The present invention is a system for opening blister packages. Generally, a cover attachment is fixed to a blister card. Buttons or tabs on the cover attachment are aligned with individual blisters on the blister card and have piercing edges or attachments. A user presses the buttons or lifts tabs and a cover layer over the blisters is pierced. The buttons or tabs are then moved or raised to allow the user to access the contents of the blister by conventional means. Embodiments include hinged tabs, slideable attachments, clamshell-like covers with moveable carriages, rotatable arms with piercing attachments, locking tab mechanisms, and flexible tethered tool devices. A variety of different blister configurations can be used. Additionally, the blister card attachments render the blister card/pack child resistant despite being easier to open.

    摘要: A container cap dispensing apparatus includes a cover member and a base member. The cover member is disposed over a portion of the base member, and the base member is secured to a container. The cover member is secured to either the base member or the container to allow the cover member to rotate relative to the container. The cover member and base member cooperate to drive a plug of the base member axially away from a dispensing opening defined in the cover member in order to permit the discharge of contents from an attached container. The cover member is permitted to rotate relative to the container but is not displaced axially relative to the base member.

    摘要: Lactams of 1-amino-3-carboxylic acid cyclic compounds are produced in enantiomeric form, together with an enantiomer of the corresponding ring-opened amino-acid or ester, by reaction of the racemic lactam with a novel lactamase. The products are useful in the synthesis of chiral carbocyclic nucleotides. The enantiomer is preferrably 2-azabicyclo(2.2.1)hept-5-en-3-one. It is desirable to isolate the enantiomer comprising predominantly the (+) enantiomer and a residual amount of the (-) enantiomer, wherein the (+) enantiomer is present in an enantiomeric excess of at least about 88% over the (-) enantiomer or the enantiomer comprising predominantly the (-) enantiomer and a residual amount of the (+) enantiomer, wherein the (-) enantiomer is present in an enantiomeric excess of at least about 98% over the (+) enantiomer.
