Abstract:
Systems and methods may be provided for lookahead instruction fetching for processors. The systems and methods may include an L1 instruction cache, where the L1 instruction cache may include a plurality of lines of data, where each line of data may include one or more instructions. The systems and methods may also include a tagless hit instruction cache, where the tagless hit instruction cache may store a subset of the lines of data in the L1 instruction cache, where instructions in the lines of data stored in the tagless hit instruction cache may be stored with metadata indicative of whether a next instruction is guaranteed to reside in the tagless hit instruction cache, where an instruction fetcher may be arranged to have direct access to the L1 instruction cache and the tagless hit instruction cache, and where the tagless hit instruction cache may be arranged to have direct access to the L1 instruction cache.
Abstract:
A polymer based index-matching gel for use with nanostructure optical fibers is disclosed. The index-matching gel has at least one polymer component having a viscosity η at 25° C. of 3 Pa-s≦η≦100 Pa-s, which prevents the index-matching gel from wicking into the voids and down the nanostructure optical fiber to a depth where the fiber performance and/or device performance is compromised. The gel is suitable for use when mechanically splicing optical fibers when at least one of the optical fibers is a nanostructure optical fiber. The gel is also suitable for use in fiber optic connectors wherein at least one of the optical fibers constituting the connection is a nanostructure optical fiber.
Abstract:
A cyclonic separation apparatus comprising at least two series connected separation stages and a receptacle for collecting material separated by the separation stages, is described. The first stage comprises a first cyclone separator and the second stage comprises a plurality of parallel connected second cyclone separators. The first and second separation stages are connected by at least one transfer duct which extends through the receptacle and transfers fluid that has been partly cleaned by the first separation stage, to the second separation stage.
Abstract:
A system that enables a wireless point-of-sale transaction. In one embodiment the system comprises an account module, an account selection module, a display, an input interface, and a wireless transmitter. The account module stores account information corresponding to a plurality of payment accounts. The account selection module selects a payment account from the plurality of payment accounts as a default payment account for a wireless point-of-sale transaction based on one or more predetermined criteria. The display displays the default payment account to a user. The input interface enables the user to accept the default payment account by the account selection module. The wireless transmitter that wirelessly transmits payment information to a point-of-sale device, wherein the payment information comprises account information associated with the default account when the default payment account is accepted via the input interface.

Abstract:
A method for allocating serial numbers among packaging sites includes receiving, from a packaging site, a query directed to a first server for the identity of a second server, providing the packaging site with information, from the first server, the information leading to the second server, receiving, from the packaging site, a query directed to the second server for the identity of a third server, providing the packaging site information, from the second server, the information leading to the third server. The method also includes receiving, from the packaging site, a query directed to the third server; and providing the packaging site at least one serial number from the third server.
Abstract:
Fatty acid-acylated insulin analogs are soluble at moderately acidic pH and provide long-acting basal control of glucose levels. In such a molecule, the insulin analog portion comprises an insulin A-chain, or an analog thereof, properly cross-linked to an analog of the insulin B-chain, wherein the &egr;-amino group of a Lys residue at either positions 28 or 29 of the B-chain analog is acylated with a fatty acid. The insulin analog portion of the molecules comprises an A-chain of insulin, or an analog thereof, with an optional Arg at position 0, properly cross-linked to a B-chain analog that includes Arg at positions 31 and 32.
Abstract:
A memory system wherein data retrieval is simultaneously initiated in both and L2 cache and main memory, which allows memory latency associated with arbitration, memory DRAM address translation, and the like to be minimized in the event that the data sought by the processor is not in the L2 cache (miss). The invention allows for any memory access to be interrupted in the storage control unit prior to any memory signals being activated. The L2 and memory access controls are in a single component, i.e. the storage control unit (SCU). Both the L2 and the memory have a unique port into the CPU which allows data to be directly transferred. This eliminates the overhead associated with storing the data in an intermediate device, such as a cache or memory controller.
Abstract:
A high energy laser (HEL) weapon system for counter-UAS (C-UAS) use comprises a fully self-contained laser system including a power supply, thermal management, high-capacity batteries, and integrated radar and electronic warfare subsystems.
Abstract:
A field deployable sensor node for determining electrical usage in an electrical power grid comprises a sensor capable of removable engagement with a supply line electrical wire and capable of measurement of at least one of current and voltage to produce measurement data; an analog to digital conversion means; a microcontroller circuit; a transceiver; storage memory for data; and a means to communicate with other nodes and self-form into a communications network selected from the group consisting of a mesh, star, and tree network topology forming a Field Area Network (FAN).
