    Abstract: Solid core particles encapsulated in a single coat of paraffin wax, the wax having a melting point of about 40.degree. to about 50.degree. C. and a solids content of from 100 to about 35% at 40.degree. C. and from 0 to about 15% at 50.degree. C. The paraffin coat may comprise 20 to 90% by weight of the particle and may be from 100 to 1,500 microns thick. The coat prolongs the time in which particles encapsulated therewith may remain active in aqueous environments.The encapsulated particle is made by spraying molten wax onto the particles in a fluidized bed. Liquid or powder cleaning compositions, particularly automatic dishwashing liquid detergents, may incorporate 0.01 to 20% by weight of the composition of the coated wax-encapsulated particles.

    Abstract: A brake stop for limiting the rotation of a rotating member to a predetermined amount comprises a brake which is actuable for stopping rotation of the rotating member and an actuator mechanism responsive to the rotation of the rotating member for actuating the brake after a predetermined amount of rotation of the rotating member. The actuator mechanism includes a differential counter gear set and a ball-ramp mechanism which converts rotary motion of the rotating member by way of the differential counter gear set into linear motion for actuation of the brake. Provision is made for sufficient lost motion or backlash in the differential counter gear set upon reversal of gear rotation to allow release of the brake from a braked condition upon reversal of the direction of rotation of the rotating member.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a unidirectional high gain brake arrangement that includes in combination a shaft mounted for rotation within a housing. The shaft is rotatable in either direction. A brake is selectively releasably coupled to the housing and to the shaft. The brake has a first member. An intermittent motion device is respectively coupled through the first member to the housing and through a one-way clutch to the shaft. The brake also has a second member that is mechanically coupled to the first brake member and to the housing. The intermittent motion device causes the brake to be activated by movement imparted to the first brake member after a preset number of revolutions of the shaft in one direction. The brake is released by rotation of the shaft in an opposite direction whereby torque transmitted through the one-way clutch to the first brake member is removed.
