In a method for reading in a data value that is entered with a pointer actuator a data value as well as a place value (i.e., 10.sup.x where x is arbitrary) is prescribed, a control motion is read in, at least a first motion value or a second motion value dependent on the control motion is determined, and the place value is modified if necessary dependent on the first motion value and the data value is modified if necessary dependent on the second motion value and the current place value. With such a method, data values can be entered fast and comfortably with a pointer in a large value range and with high precision.

In order to create a mobile MRI/PET apparatus which is designed as compactly as possible and, firstly, satisfies the radiation protection requirements for protecting the surroundings of the measurement apparatus to the best possible extent and, secondly, excludes interfering environmental influences on the measurement apparatus, a shielding arrangement with at least one shielding element for attenuating the main magnetic field and the gradient field and also the annihilation radiation outside the trailer housing is provided in at least one embodiment.

A computerized method is disclosed for detecting a brain region with neurodegenerative change and also a brain region with vascular change in the brain of a patient and also an imaging arrangement suitable for this. In at least one embodiment, the method includes recording a first data record of the brain via positron emission tomography and a second data record of the brain via magnetic resonance imaging; reconstructing a PET image from the first data record and an MRI image from the second data record; identifying evidence for a brain region with vascular change in the MRI image; segmenting the MRI image into gray matter and white matter; identifying a brain region with neurodegenerative change in the PET image; and superposing the PET image and the segmented MRI image to determine whether the brain region with neurodegenerative change is present in gray matter or in white matter, the recording of the first data record and the second data record being carried out in quick succession without repositioning the patient or is even carried out simultaneously.

The field of the invention refers to chimeric Virus Like Particles (VLP) derived from Birnavirus chimeric VP2 protein. In particular, the invention refers to chimeric VP2 fusion proteins which incorporate insertions and/or substitutions with one or more amino acids or particular peptide of interest while maintaining the capacity to assemble in the form of VLP. The invention identifies particular insertion and/or substitutions sites within VP2 P loop regions and outside said P loop regions. The invention also incorporates methods for the identification of preferred insertion and substitution sites within VP2 for the incorporation of particular amino acids and peptides of interest. The resulting chimeric VLP are of interest in the design of therapeutic and prophylactic vaccines as well as in the design of drug delivery systems, carriers for DNA and RNA in gene therapy, as targeted agents, in the development of antitoxins, and as diagnostic reagents.
