Abstract:
An air bag device, comprising: an inflatable cushion being configured for deployment from the air bag device; an inflator for inflating the inflatable cushion, the inflator being in fluid communication with the inflatable cushion, the inflator comprising a first initiator for initiating a first stage of inflation and a second initiator for use with the first initiator for initiating a second stage of inflation, the first stage of inflation providing a first inflation output to the inflatable cushion; and a deployable member disposed within the inflatable cushion, the deployable member being in fluid communication with the inflator, wherein the first stage of inflation causes the deployable member to deploy in a first direction; wherein unobstructed deployment of the deployable member in the first direction will cause a signal to be sent to the second initiator to initiate the second stage of inflation.
Abstract:
An airbag module including an airbag, comprising an elongated backbone, and an airbag housing having the airbag therein coupled to the backbone. A sleeve is secured about the airbag housing, and coupled to the backbone. The module also includes tubular chute having open ends that receives the elongated backbone, airbag housing, and sleeve therein, wherein the airbag housing restricts expansion of the airbag through the open ends of the tubular chute during deployment of the airbag.
Abstract:
Methods of conducting database transactions. One such method comprises receiving data to be written to a database; identifying a set of shard replicas corresponding to the database to which the data is to be written; transmitting, to each of the replicas in the set, a request to write the data thereto; receiving votes back from the replicas in the set, each vote representing whether the respective replica commits to a writing of the data thereto; determining whether to commit to the writing of the data to the database according to whether a majority of the replicas of every shard having replicas in the set has transmitted a vote committing to the writing of the data thereto; and transmitting an outcome of the determining to each of the replicas in the set.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for monitoring consumer generated media are disclosed herein. Consumer generated media (CGM) is discovered using a plurality of keywords from a set of keywords configured to return consumer generated media embedded in a digital location. CGM is collected from a plurality of sources using a plurality of robots configured to collect media from the discovered CGM. CGM is normalized for statistical analysis. CGM is tested for conceptual relevance to the predetermined topic using the series of keywords. Sentiment is determined of the collected consumer generated media based on the semantics of the language in the collected CGM. A graphical user interface is generated having collected consumer generated media and statistical information related to at least one of the conceptual relevance and the determined sentiment. The graphical user interface is displayed and a reply is enabled to at least one of the collected consumer generated media, displayed within the graphical user interface, such that when selected a reply is posted to the source of the CGM.
Abstract:
An annular safety valve sealing package comprises an annular safety valve comprising a tubular housing; a first annular sealing element comprising a first elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing of the annular safety valve; a second annular sealing element comprising a second elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing of the annular safety valve adjacent the first annular sealing element; and a third annular sealing element comprising a third elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing of the annular safety valve adjacent the second annular sealing element and on an opposite side of the second annular sealing element from the first annular sealing element. At least two of the first elastomeric material, the second elastomeric material, or the third elastomeric material have different compositions.
Abstract:
A knee airbag assembly is operable to restrain at least one leg of an occupant of a vehicle. The assembly includes an inflator, a housing, and an airbag that moves between a stowed state and a deployed state. The inflator is operable to selectively inflate the airbag to move the airbag from the stowed state to the deployed state. The airbag is housed within the housing in the stowed state, and the airbag extends from the housing in the deployed state. The airbag defines a package width when in the stowed state, and the airbag defines a deployed width when in the deployed state. A ratio of the package width to the deployed width is between approximately 0.8 and 1.0.
Abstract:
A method implementable in at least one electronic device coupled to a network and a display device, includes receiving, over the network, a data set, receiving, from a user, a selection of a first topic, determining, based on the data set, a plurality of network sites hosting commentary of the first topic and an authority level of each site of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, an authority level of each site of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, a plurality of authors providing the commentary hosted by the plurality of network sites, determining, based on the data set, an authority level of each author of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, a value characterizing an opinion of each author on the first topic.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention include a method, apparatus, system, and/or computer program for monitoring energy consumption in a network and producing a display grid that provides a visual depiction of network device power consumption at any given time. The method includes, in one example, receiving a request for a power level schedule for a network device. The request may include a time period or date range over which the power level schedule should be produced. The method may also include retrieving Cron job strings associated with the network device, and parsing the Cron job strings to determine transitions from one power level to another and times for the transitions of the power level of the network device. The method further includes building a visual grid that depicts the power level schedule for the network device during each hour of the time period, based on the determined transitions.
Abstract:
TruCast is a method for management, by way of gathering, storing, analyzing, tracking, sorting, determining the relevance of, visualizing, and responding to all available consumer generated media. Some examples of consumer generated media include web logs or “blogs”, mobile phone blogs or “mo-blogs”, forums, electronic discussion messages, Usenet, message boards, BBS emulating services, product review and discussion web sites, online retail sites that support customer comments, social networks, media repositories, and digital libraries. Any web hosted system for the persistent public storage of human commentary is a potential target for this method. The system is comprised of a coordinated software and hardware system designed to perform management, collection, storage, analysis, workflow, visualization, and response tasks upon this media. This system permits a unified interface to manage, target, and accelerate interactions within this space, facilitating public relations, marketing, advertising, consumer outreach, political debate, and other modes of directed discourse.
