Abstract: The present invention relates to plate elements for the construction of a reactor module for carrying out endothermic reactions at high temperatures, the plate elements being designed in such a way that all reactant gases are heated by flowing around heating elements and the reaction zone is heated at the same time. The present invention also relates to reactor modules and reactor systems using the plate elements according to the invention pressed against each other, as well as the corresponding methods for efficiently carrying out endothermic chemical reactions, in particular the rWGS reaction.

Abstract: A woven structure includes thermoelectric ribbons interwoven with thread. Each thermoelectric ribbon includes a folded matrix of thermoelectric elements, the matrix having an insulating substrate that supports plural rows of thermoelectric elements, a plurality of conductive elements, and two terminals. The conductive elements form a series connection of the thermoelectric elements between the two terminals. A set of first conductive elements have a first temperature and a set of second conductive contacts have a second temperature lower than the first temperature when a first current flows in a first direction between the first matrix terminal and the second matrix terminal. The folded matrix is configured to form spaced-apart alternating stacks of the first conductive contacts and second conductive contacts. Each length of the yard or thread is interwoven such that it passes alternately under stacks of first conductive contacts and over stacks of second conductive contacts.

Abstract: A perceived gamut (PG) of a physical display device presenting frames of an image sequence to a human viewer may be increased. An interface of the system receives a sequence of frames from an image sequence source with each frame having input color data associated with each pixel of the respective frame, the input color data being given in a specified color space. A perceived color computation module computes for each particular frame of the received image sequence perceived colors of each pixel and a frame-specific adapted white point. An optimizer module applies a chromatic adaptation transformation to each window frame to determine display gamut adjusted perceived colors of each pixel of the respective frame and an error per window frame. The chromatic adaptation transformation is updated for all window frames to minimize the determined error, and the current frame is output to the display.

In the inventive method, first and second optical component are provided, each having respective beam profiles. An arrangement of the first and second optical components and the form and target position of at least one beam-shaping element are specified. The beam-shaping element is produced using a three-dimensional direct-writing lithography method in situ at the target position to thereby obtain an optical component supplemented by the beam-shaping element. The supplemented optical component is placed and fixed on common base plate to thereby obtain the optical system. The optical systems produced with the present method can be used in optical data transfer, measurement technology and sensors, life sciences and medical technology, or optical signal processing.

Abstract: A compiler system, method and computer program product for optimizing a program is disclosed. The compiler includes an extractor module configured to extract, from an initial program code, a hierarchical task representation wherein each node of the hierarchical task representation corresponds to a potential unit of execution. The root node of the hierarchical task representation represents the entire initial program code and each child node represents a sub-set of units of execution of its respective parent node. It further has a parallelizer module configured to apply to the hierarchical task representation pre-defined parallelization rules associated with the processing device to automatically adjust the hierarchical task representation by assigning particular units of execution to particular processing units of the processing device and by inserting communication and/or synchronization in that the adjusted hierarchical task representation reflects parallel program code for the processing device.

Abstract: A compiler system, computer-implemented method and computer program product for optimizing a program for multi-processor system execution. The compiler includes an interface component configured to load from a storage component program code to be executed by one or more processors (P1 to Pn) of a multi-processor system. The compiler further includes a static analysis component configured to determine data dependencies) within the program code, and further determines all basic blocks of the control flow graph providing potential insertion positions along paths where communication statements can be inserted to enable data flow between different processors at runtime. An evaluation function component of the compiler is configured to evaluate each potential insertion position with regards to its impact on program execution on the multi-processor system at runtime by using a predefined execution evaluation function.
