Abstract:
A method for storing a conversation upon a user's real-time request in a Converged-IP Messaging (CPM) service is provided. The method includes storing a conversation in a message storage server on a network or stopping the storage of the conversation upon a user's request. A target that can be stored within a conversation includes a pager mode message, a large message, and media delivered through the session. In this manner, media in the conversation may be limited to media selected by a user.
Abstract:
A method for transferring a session between clients is provided when one user uses multiple clients on a service (for example, Push to talk over Cellular (PoC), Instant Messaging (IM), Converged-Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM)) providing system implemented through a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/IP core network. A session transfer method is provided when the user needs to transfer a session to another client while the session is performed through one client. A “temporary storing” technique is used in which a conversation server or client as one of elements of a seamless CPM system for providing a seamless user environment temporarily stores data transmitted from another user during session transfer.
Abstract:
A method includes creating a plurality of user preference profiles. Each user preference profile includes at least one of a profile format without active user preference profile indication, a profile format including an active user preference profile indication, and a profile format specific to each device of a user. The plurality of user preference profiles are stored in a shared server. One or more user preference profiles corresponding to a plurality of devices are activated. The one or more user preference profiles are provided to an application server. The application server implements preferences included in corresponding user preference profile. A system includes a plurality of devices of the user, a plurality of clients corresponding to the plurality of devices, an application server corresponding to the plurality of clients, and a shared server for storing a plurality of user preference profiles.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for establishing a session upon satisfaction of particular conditions in a messaging service system such as SIMPLE Instant Messaging (IM), Push to talk over Cellular (PoC), and Converged IP Messaging) (CPM) services, in which a client provides particular conditions to a server separately for a predefined group session, an Ad-hoc group session and a one-to-one session, and the server establishes a session to the pertinent members upon satisfaction of the particular conditions. By doing so, a session reflecting particular conditions set by the client is established in the SIP-based system, thereby offering further differentiated messaging services.
Abstract:
A method is provided for receiving a session history by a Controlling Function (CF) in a communication system. The method includes sending, by a CF in a first domain, a first message requesting a session history to a Conversation Server (CS) in the first domain; receiving, from the CS in the first domain, a second message including access information to a CS in a second domain, which has a session history, when the CS in the first domain has no session history; sending a third message requesting a session history to the CS in the second domain, which has the session history, based on the access information; and receiving a fourth message including the session history from the CS in the second domain.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a mobile communication system and a method for requesting a disposition notification from each group member for an IM message. In the method, a sender can request desired group members for a disposition notification for an IM (Instant Messaging) message in a group messaging service. To this end, the sender on the transmission side constructs an IM message in such a manner as to include information on the group members designated by the sender, and then transmits the constructed IM message to an IM server. After receiving the IM message from the sender, the IM server generates IM messages corresponding to the group members based on the information included in the received IM message, and then transmits the generated IM messages to the group members, respectively. Accordingly, only the group members that have received the IM messages can generate their own reports, and then transmit the generated reports to the sender. By doing this, the sender can receive the disposition notification only from the desired group members.
Abstract:
A mechanism to enable multiple message threads management in the context of the Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service and in the context of CPM inter-working with SMS is provided. A CPM user can simply start a message-based conversation with another CPM or Short Message Service (SMS) user without explicitly establishing a session beforehand. All messages that belong to a given conversation are displayed in the corresponding conversational view (i.e. window) in the CPM user device, even if the conversation is stopped and restarted at a later time, and even if there are multiple message threads available (currently active or stored) in the CPM device. Message structures and behavior of the CPM system elements to enable the functionalities above as well as a mechanism makes the message threads management possible even between a CPM user and an SMS user are also provided.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a single wire communication system for communicating between integrated circuits. The single wire communication system comprises an upper control device generating control commands, a to-be-controlled chip operating with the control commands, and a single wire communication module transferring the control commands. The single wire communication module processes the control commands from the upper control device with the control commands separated into a start signal, a data signal, an end signal, and an ack signal, converts them to at least one or more bits of data bits, and the transfers them to the to-be-controlled chip. By doing so, the present invention can transfer the control commands from the upper control device to the to-be-controlled chip without any loss or distortion caused from unstable factors such as noises, and enables high speed process of a number of commands.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a multimedia message service method and system for sharing and searching for multimedia messages stored in an MM box. The MMS client has the possibility to associate an access mode (“public”, “restricted”, or “private”) to any multimedia message stored in or uploaded to an MM box. When a multimedia message is permitted to be shared, the MMS clients who have been granted access to the multimedia message can be notified of the shared multimedia message. When the MMS client requests to view or retrieve a multimedia message, the MMS relay/server checks if the MMS client has been granted permission to access to the multimedia message. If the MMS client has been granted permission to access to the multimedia message, the MMS relay/server allows the MMS client to access the multimedia message.
