Abstract:
A system and a method for establishing a group messaging session in consideration of a group policy in a communication system. A transmitter-side terminal stores information on a group policy in a group information storage unit, and transmits, to a server, an INVITE message requiring application of the group policy to generation of a group messaging session. The server receives the INVITE message, recognizes that the group policy should be applied to the generation of the group messaging session, and acquires the information on the group policy from the group information storage unit. The server transmits the INVITE message including the acquired group policy information to a receiver-side terminal that is invited to participate in the group session, and receives a response from the receiver-side terminal.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for providing a contact through interworking with a Social Network Service (SNS) are provided. The method includes receiving, by a client using the other service through SNS interworking, a contact provided in the SNS, determining whether the other party's client having subscribed to the same service as that of the client is present in the received contact, and informing a user of the determination results. Based on the determination results, the client may determine subscription/non-subscription of the other party's client to the service, and may send an invite request for the service if the other party's client has not subscribed to the same service as that of the client. By doing so, the number of targets, subscription/non-subscription of which to a specific service can be determined, may be extended.
Abstract:
Provided is a system and method for providing a converged messaging service, which can be compatibly used with or replace various services, such as an Instant Messaging (IM) service, a Short Message Service (SMS), a Multimedia Message Service (MMS), a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, and a PTT over Cellular (PoC) service. To do this, there are defined an architecture and interfacing of a Converged Messaging Client (CMC) and a CM Server (CMS), which are elements of a converged messaging service for being compatibly used with or replacing the various services. In particular, there is suggested a method of enabling interworking between heterogeneous messaging services in an application layer by expending IP Multimedia Core Network (CN) Subsystem (IMS) technology. There is also suggested a method of defining a CM data storage for supporting the converged messaging service and managing a message and metadata stored in the defined CM data storage.

Abstract:
A method and system are provided for requesting a disposition notification from each group member for an Instant Messaging (IM) message. A sender requests desired group members for a disposition notification for an IM message in a group messaging service. The sender on the transmission side constructs an IM message to include information on the group members designated by the sender and transmits the constructed IM message to an IM server. After receiving the IM message from the sender, the IM server generates IM messages corresponding to the group members based on the information included in the received IM message, and then transmits the generated IM messages to respective group members. Accordingly, only the group members that have received the IM messages can generate their own reports, and then transmit the generated reports to the sender, allowing the sender to receive the disposition notification only from desired group members.
Abstract:
A method and system for dividing a signal push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) group session are provided. The method includes requesting, at a PoC client, session division to a participating PoC function (PF) of a PoC server that manages a PoC session to which the PoC client belongs; requesting, at the PF of the PoC server, the session division to a controlling PoC function (CF) of a PoC server; transmitting, at the CF of the PoC server, information necessary for a new PoC session to at least one PoC client that desires to participate in the new PoC session while requesting the session division; and connecting, at the PoC client which is to participate in the new PoC session, to a CF of a PoC server which manages the new PoC session through a CF of an existing PoC server to thereby participate in the new PoC session.
Abstract:
A method for transferring a session between clients is provided when one user uses multiple clients on a service (for example, Push to talk over Cellular (PoC), Instant Messaging (IM), Converged-Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM)) providing system implemented through a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)/IP core network. A session transfer method is provided when the user needs to transfer a session to another client while the session is performed through one client. A “temporary storing” technique is used in which a conversation server or client as one of elements of a seamless CPM system for providing a seamless user environment temporarily stores data transmitted from another user during session transfer.

Abstract:
A session integration method is provided for integrating a first session between a first entity and a third entity and a second session between a second entity and the third entity in a session-based service environment. The first entity receives a REFER message including dialog information from the second entity, and sends a response message to the received REFER message to the second entity. When header information included in the received REFER message indicates an INVITE message and the dialog information is related to the first entity, the first entity generates a Re-INVITE message and sends the generated Re-INVITE message to an address of a target which is subject to session integration. The address is included in the header information and corresponds to the third entity. The first entity updates the first session into an integrated session with the third entity.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of providing contact information through an interworking between a messaging service and another service, the method including: receiving a preference of a user from an application client by an application server; receiving a request for a list of new contacts from the application client; transferring the request for the list of the new contacts to an interworking server; receiving a profile of the contact from a service provider through the interworking server; filtering the received profile of the contact; and transferring a list of filtered contacts to the application client.
Abstract:
A system and method for interworking a Converged-IP Messaging (CPM) service to another messaging service. In particular, the present invention realizes a function of allowing a CPM service's recipient to receive a message sent from another CPM service's sender using a non-CPM service to which the recipient has subscribed. To this end, the present invention uses preference information of a recipient in determining a non-CPM service to be subjected to interworking. In this way, the CPM service can interwork with non-CPM services, contributing to expansion of an area where services can be provided.
