摘要: A method of generating an annotated network topology of a network is described. The method includes determining available bandwidth “B” of a network on a network path connecting a pair of endpoints by performing Transfer Control Protocol (TCP) flows between the pair of endpoints, the network having a plurality of network paths, identifying a bottleneck link in the network path, and annotating all edges in a network path, wherein available bandwidth annotation of links inside the network is determined using end-to-end network measurements. A system for generating the annotated network topology of a network is also described.

摘要: A process for the dyeing of a fibrous article utilizing closed-loop metered dosing of one or more dyes and one or more chemicals that are adjusted in real time as a function of selected monitored parameters of the dyeing bath. The process includes immersing the fibrous article in a heated liquid bath of a solvent medium for the dye wherein the bath has a predetermined pH. Acid is added to the dyeing bath to reduce the pH according to a predetermined profile that is responsive to real-time measurements of dyeing bath pH. Dye is also added to the dyeing bath during dyeing as a liquid concentrate and responsive to real-time calculations of dye uptake by the fibrous article. Dye uptake is calculated periodically by determining in real time during dyeing (1) the solution concentration of the dye in the dyeing bath and (2) the amount of the dye added to the dyeing bath, and then calculating the uptake of dye by the fibrous article therefrom. The dye addition rate during dyeing is adjusted in accordance with the calculated dye uptake by the fibrous article.

摘要: A method and corresponding apparatus are provided to detect false answer supervision by determining false answer supervision as either as a function of a number of completed calls of short duration or as a function of a distribution of differences between timestamps of alert signals and timestamps of connect signals used to complete calls, detecting false answer supervision based on the indicator of false answer supervision determined by either functions separately or in combination, and affecting a decision in response to the detecting.

摘要: Managing application performance on a network. A network graph is generated from a set of application endpoints on the network. The network graph is annotated by associating one or more of the application endpoints with at least one of a corresponding latency annotation or a corresponding available bandwidth annotation. An end to end plan is formulated from the annotated network graph, wherein the plan maps one or more application requirements onto the plurality of paths in accordance with one or more end to end control adjustments including at least one of a server selection adjustment, an internet service provider (ISP) selector, or an overlay routing adjustment.

摘要: A method and apparatus minimize battery discharge of mobile communication devices in short range wireless radio communication networks by switching receiving antennas to minimize transmitted power for a mobile communication device. Multiple receiving antennas and at least one transmitting antenna are used. The receiving antennas are switched for each mobile communication device to minimize transmitted power required by a mobile communication device. Switching between receiving antennas is accomplished by measuring power of a signal received from a mobile communication device at each receiving antenna, and selecting a receiving antenna based on the measured power. A database of switchings is maintained for the mobile communication devices, and an initial selection of a receiving antenna is based on the last switching or a trend indicated by most recent switchings. Alternatively, the initial switching is to a centrally located receiving antenna.
