Abstract: A method for dyeing a hook-and-loop fastener strap is disclosed. The hook-and-loop fastener strap continuously passes through a basic or neutral dyeing solution in a dyeing device. The dyeing solution attaches itself to the hook-and-loop fastener strap. The dyeing solution has a dye that binds to the hook-and-loop fastener strap only when the dyeing solution is in an acidic state. After passing through the dyeing device, the hook-and-loop fastener strap with the deposited dyeing solution is passed through a damper, causing the dyeing solution to become acidic. The dye adheres to the hook-and-loop fastener strap to dye the hook-and-loop fastener strap. A dyeing system for implementing the method is also disclosed.

The plastic is selected from the group including a polymer, copolymer, polymer blend and combinations of the same. The method includes a pretreatment step for cationically modifying the surface of the melded shaped part. The cationic modification is carried out with a reactant dissolved in a solvent and having one or more amine, imine and/or amide groups.

Abstract: Yarns are described herein which, in some embodiments, comprise plies or single strands dyed with at least one vat dyestuff yielding a tweed or heathered appearance. In one aspect, a yarn comprises a first ply and a second ply each dyed with at least one vat dyestuff, wherein a difference in color depth (DL*) between the dyed first single strand and the dyed second single strand has an absolute value of at least 2 when the vat dyestuff is in an oxidized state. As described further herein, the first ply and the second ply are dyed in the same dyebath. In another aspect, a yarn comprises a first ply and a second ply each dyed with at least one vat dyestuff, wherein a reflectance ration between the second ply and the first ply ranges from 0.05 to 0.95.

Abstract: The present invention provides a post-fabrication modification approach for the fabrication of colored and chromic materials and sensors using plasma surface modification to covalently bind the coloring agent to the substrate, thus avoiding leaching of the dye. Advantageously, in said methods, said coloring agent is a dye or pigment linked to a radical sensitive functional group, such as an alkenyl or alkynyl functional group, and is applied to the substrate prior to the gas plasma treatment. The methods envisaged herein are generic in nature, which allow the covalent immobilization of various dyes on different materials. The covalently coated materials after plasma surface modification, particularly the covalently coated chromic materials and sensors, can be used in many different applications, such as protective textile and wound dressing applications.

Abstract: A thermal transfer method for fabrics is disclosed, comprising the following steps: 1) modifying a fabric with a modifier; 2) attaching a heat transfer paper having a pattern to a modified fabric, and then performing a thermal pressure treatment. The thermal transfer method for fabrics as disclosed herein has simple steps, low cost, and readily available raw materials of the modifier, and is suitable for large-scale production. The fabric prepared by the thermal transfer method has complete pattern, bright color, uniform coloring, good color fastness, washing resistance, soft material and a good feeling on the skin.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method for permeating color into components includes the step of placing substrates inside a carrier. The method includes the step of placing the carrier inside an ultrasonic cleaning tank of an ultrasonic cleaning machine. The method includes the step of performing an ultrasonic cleaning in the ultrasonic cleaning tank. After the ultrasonic cleaning, the method transports the carrier with a robotic arm to a washing tank. The method includes the step of inserting, with the robotic arm, the carrier into the washing tank and neutralizing a substrate with water in the washing tank. The method includes the step of feeding warm water into a channel of the washing tank up to a specified level. The method includes the step of steaming the washing tank for a specified steaming time.

Abstract: Provided is a method for dyeing a polymer material with an aqueous pigment composition containing at least one pigment dispersed therein, wherein the polymer material is a blend including a first polymer composition and a second polymer composition which is compatible with the first polymer composition, which second polymer composition includes a binding agent for the at least one pigment. The method includes the steps of heating the polymer material to an activation temperature below the softening temperature of the polymer material, contacting the polymer material with the aqueous pigment composition at a contact temperature for a period of time sufficient to form a pigmented polymer material, subjecting the pigmented polymer material to a fixation step to fixate the at least one pigment therein by cooling the pigmented polymer material to a fixation temperature which is lower than the temperature at which contacting of the polymer material with the aqueous pigment composition is carried out.
