    Abstract: A machine for producing a material web, including a paper or cardboard web, having a plurality of cylinders around which the material web is guided in a meandering path together with a conveyor (transport) belt. The machine further includes at least one air conveying device disposed in the transfer region between two cylinders. The air conveying device associates with the free circumference region of a cylinder and aspirates the material web as the material web travels in a path free from contact with the cylinders as the material web travels between two succeeding cylinders. The material web and the conveyor belt are partially wound around the circumference region of the cylinders. According to the invention, the air conveying device only covers certain areas of the free circumference region of the cylinder on which the material web (paper web) winds.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a steam blower box for the application of steam onto a material web passing by, for example onto a paper web that is to be dewatered and is passing through the press section of a paper-manufacturing machine. The steam blower box extends, transverse to the web travel direction, over the entire web width and comprises a plurality of zone chambers, that are arranged side by side over the web width and are covered by a perforated steam exit panel. Each zone chamber is connected to a steam source via a control valve of its own. The steam exit panel can be removed for purposes of cleaning the zone chambers. Each of the zone chambers comprises a perforated panel insert which is likewise removable.

    Abstract: A paper making machine comprises a press followed by an adjoining drying section having a plurality of dryer groups. Each dryer group comprises only one row of dryer cylinders and one row of suction rolls then therebetween. The press section in each of the dryer groups has a respective variable web speed drive. A speed control device controls the drive such that a positive difference in speed is always present between the first dryer group and the press and also between the second dryer group and the first dryer group. Open draws may be defined between at least some of the dryer groups.
