Abstract:
An apparatus and method of supporting peer-to-peer communication of a wireless mesh network is disclosed. The method includes a node within the wireless mesh network maintaining a routing table that indicates a first route to a client device. If the node receives a better route to the client device, the node deletes the first route, and sends a route delete to a next hop device of the first route of the client device.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of determining link qualities of a plurality of links between an access point and a plurality of client devices is disclosed. The method includes detecting all client devices associated with the access point. A list of the associated client devices is generated. The access point transmits keep alive packets according to the list. The access point counts responds to the keep alive packets from each of the client devices. The access point estimates a link quality between the access point and each client device based on the counted responses. An apparatus and method of determining link qualities of a plurality of links between an access node of a wireless mesh network and a plurality of client devices is also disclosed. The method includes detecting all client devices associated with the access node. A list of the associated client devices is generated. The access node transmits keep alive packets to each of the associated client devices according to the list. The access point counts responds to the keep alive packets from each of the client devices. The access point estimates a link quality between the access point and each client device based on the counted responses.
Abstract:
A cannula assembly for treating a puncture site in a subcutaneous vessel includes a cannula and an elongated sleeve with a bore for receiving the cannula. The elongated sleeve includes a plurality of channels circumferentially spaced about the bore through which at least one of a flow of air can be drawn and a plurality of wires can be advanced to promote the formation of a seal between the elongated sleeve and the subcutaneous vessel around the puncture site. The cannula assembly can further include a plug which can be inserted into the bore of the elongated sleeve following removal of the cannula. A needle for insertion into the subcutaneous vessel includes a rigid shaft with an enlarged segment connected to a hub. The needle and cannula assembly can be utilized in a method for cannulating the subcutaneous vessel.
Abstract:
A method of managing speech interfaces to computer-based services includes beginning a first speech session that is carried out in a vehicle over a short-range wireless connection between a vehicle occupant and a mobile device; detecting an initiation of a second speech session while the first speech session is being carried out; determining an assigned priority level of the first speech session relative to an assigned priority level of the second speech session based on a first speech context identified in the first speech session and a second speech context identified in the second speech session; and when the assigned priority level of the second speech session has a higher priority than the assigned priority level of the first speech session, carrying out a session-appropriate action on the first speech session.
Abstract:
A method of providing hands-free services using a mobile device having wireless access to computer-based services includes establishing a short-range wireless connection between a mobile device and a vehicle; receiving speech in the vehicle that is communicated to a mobile voice platform resident on the mobile device via the short-range wireless connection; parsing the received speech using the mobile voice platform to identify vehicle-specific vocabulary; when vehicle-specific vocabulary exists, identifying at least one vehicle-specific vocabulary term that affects vehicle operation; identifying at least one vehicle function of an inter-related group of vehicle functions that is associated with the identified vehicle-specific vocabulary; determining whether to access one or more cloud services based on the identity of the vehicle function; generating a text-based command reflecting audible control of the affected vehicle function; and sending the text-based command from the mobile device to the vehicle over the short-range wireless connection.
Abstract:
Methods of correlating wireless network performance of a wireless network are disclosed. One method includes collecting wireless network performance parameters at a location of the network, observing at least one of activities and conditions of the wireless network over the period of time, and correlating the wireless network performance parameters with at least one of the activities and conditions of the wireless network. The wireless network performance parameters can be collected by one or more test devices operating at nodes or clients within the wireless network.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods of using multiple radios of a wireless access node of a wireless network are disclosed. One method includes selecting a 4.9 GHz radio exclusively for public safety data packets, selecting other radios for other types of data packets, and selecting other radios for public safety data packets depending upon specification by a network operator.
Abstract:
A method of providing connectivity between subnets of a wireless network is disclosed. The method includes each gateway of each subnet selecting less than all gateways of each other subnet of the wireless network. An adjacency is formed between each gateway and each of the less than all selected gateways of each other subnet.
Abstract:
A method of determining a location of a network condition within a wireless mesh network is disclosed. The method includes a test device testing a first plurality of wireless hops of the wireless mesh network. The test device also tests a second number of wireless hops of the wireless mesh network. The test device locates the network condition within the wireless mesh network by comparing the test of the first plurality of wireless hops with the test of the second number of wireless hops.
Abstract:
A method of providing hands-free services using a mobile device having wireless access to computer-based services includes receiving speech in a vehicle from a vehicle occupant; recording the speech using a mobile device; transmitting the recorded speech from the mobile device to a cloud speech service; receiving automatic speech recognition (ASR) results from the cloud speech service at the mobile device; and comparing the recorded speech with the received ASR results at the mobile device to identify one or more error conditions.
