摘要: A battery charger and method for a rechargeable battery pack which includes various elements in series with the cells to be charged, including but not limited to current control FETs, a fuse, current sense resistor, and internal series impedance of the series connected cells to be charged. The charging current Ichg flowing through these series elements reduces the voltage applied to the cells, thus lengthening charging time. A compensation voltage Vcomp, which when added to the nominal charging voltage for the series connected cells overcomes these voltage drops, facilitates more efficient charging while avoiding over-voltage damage to the cells. Three voltages representing substantially all of the voltage drops reducing the charging voltage on the cells, are summed, and the result is a compensation voltage which is utilized to change the nominal charge voltage for the battery to overcome these voltage drops.

摘要: A method for designing an, at least partly wireless, local area communication network for industrial application. A 3D plant model of the area in which the communication network is to operate is accessed. Devices that are to communicate in the communication, identify and quantify potential sources of interference or attenuation of the communication signals are introduced into this model. Data regarding communication characteristics of the devices are included. Communication possibilities of the devices are tested and evalutated in the communication network taking into account the possible interference and attenuation sources. If communication possibilities of a particular device is inadequate, adjustments regarding that device are suggested.

摘要: A method in an industrial safety system for controlling a process or equipment. The industrial safety system including components with safety devices. The safety system enables signals to be generated as a result of an event or alarm. An automated link is created between the event or alarm and an action to be taken upon receipt of the event or alarm signal due to the event. A control signal is generated to initiate the action. Also, a computerized system according to the method.

摘要: A special anchoring device called a SPECIAL REUSABLE ANCHOR. This device is used to mount and secure various objects to a structure of masonry, concrete, wood, metal, gypsum wallboard, and the like. After the secure connection or attachment, the device may be released and reused if desired. This removal does not damage or weaken the structure or anchor device. The device is comprised of several structural members namely a fastener with various top portions or “heads”; a free wedge portion with a non-threaded aperture; and, a threaded wedge means for securing and connecting the SPECIAL REUSABLE ANCHOR to a structure. While the three main members are securely connected to the structure, the overall device has a means to release and reuse the SPECIAL REUSABLE ANCHOR for other connections without significant damage to the structure.

摘要: The invention provides a sensor assembly which can sense human tissue in a protected area of a machine. An emitter plate and a plurality of sensor plates are disposed co-planar to each other and adjacent to the protected area of the machine. An electric field is generated between the emitter plate and the sensor plates and directed towards the protected area. The sensor plates produce electrical signals corresponding to the electric field received at the sensor plate. The electrical signals are amplified, measures, and analyzed to determine if human tissue is within the protected area. If human tissue is detected, a machine interface circuit will shut down the machine to prevent injury.
