Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for adjusting a camshaft of an internal combustion engine with at least one electromotor which produces, by way of a planetary gear, the adjustment of the camshaft with respect to a pinion, with the planetary gear comprising a first ring gear and a second ring gear as well as at least a first planet wheel which is in engagement with the first ring gear and at least a second planet wheel which is in engagement with the second ring gear and which is rigidly connected with the first planet wheel. An efficient position with low adjusting moments is achieved in such a way that several planet sets are provided which each consist of a first planet wheel and a second planet wheel, that the pinion is fixedly connected with the first ring gear, that the camshaft is fixedly connected with the second ring gear, that the first planet wheel and the second planet wheel have a slightly different diameter and that the first planet wheel and the second planet wheel are held on a planet cage which is held concentrically to the axle of the camshaft and the pinion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for adjusting the phase angle of a camshaft of an internal combustion engine with a drive gear for driving a camshaft accommodated in a coaxial arrangement relative to the camshaft and with an electric motor for rotating the camshaft relative to the drive gear, the electric motor having two concentrically arranged rotors, of which the one is connected to the camshaft and the other to the drive gear. Simple and safe adjusting is achieved by having a first coil arrangement non rotatably linked to one of the rotors and electromagnetically interacting with a stationary coil arrangement in order to induce or to transmit the energy needed for the operation of the electric motor.
Abstract:
A centrifugal pump includes an impeller which is attached to a drive shaft, a multipart pump housing which is partly made of plastic material and contains an intake chamber positioned on the drive side of the impeller and a spiral-shaped pressure chamber, a bearing support disposed in the region of the intake chamber being made of metallic material, and the pump housing is provided with an intake flange on the drive side and a housing cover in the region of the pressure chamber. In order to reduce weight and manufacturing cost, the intake chamber is bounded on the one hand by the bearing support and on the other hand by a housing part which is made of plastic material and surrounds the bearing support to which it is connected, preferably so as to be detachable.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a cooling system for motor vehicles comprising a water pump configured as a radial-flow pump and a thermostat for control of the cooling system, which is installed in a thermostat housing, the water pump having a housing on the inlet side, which is integral with the housing of the thermostat. Simplicity of design is achieved by including a flow directing baffle as part of a connecting piece of the heater return line, which baffle partially encloses the thermostat.
Abstract:
An air processing device for a utility vehicle includes a compressor and two air dryer cartridges. The air dryer cartridges are located in two parallel paths. A control unit controls a regeneration of one of said air dryer cartridges independent from a load phase of the other of said air dryer cartridges.
Abstract:
A cartridge of an air dryer serves for cleaning compressed air to be used in compressed air supply systems of motor vehicles, especially trucks. The cartridge includes a housing, a pre-filter, a deposit chamber, a coalescing filter, a bypass conduit and a check valve. The deposit chamber is located downstream of the pre-filter. The deposit chamber is filled with a treating substance. The coalescing filter is arranged between the pre-filter and the deposit chamber. The bypass conduit is designed and arranged to bypass the coalescing filter and not to bypass the pre-filter. The check valve is arranged in the bypass conduit in a way that it opens during regeneration of the cartridge.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a compressed air processing system. The compressed air processing system includes an inlet connection, a pressure control unit, a multi-circuit protection valve, a plurality of outlet connections, a parking brake connection, an electronic control unit and a valve arrangement. The inlet connection is connected to a conduit coming from a compressor. Each of the outlet connections is connected to a circuit (I, II, and so forth). The parking brake connection is connected to a conduit coming from a parking brake cylinder. The electronic control unit includes an electric input connection for a control signal. The valve arrangement aerates and locks the parking brake connection in a controlled way due to a signal being generated by the electronic control unit. The valve arrangement also deaerates the parking brake connection due to a signal being generated by the electronic control unit.
Abstract:
A compressed air control apparatus for compressed air systems of motor vehicles includes a pressure controller (10) for controlling the pressure, an air dryer (6) for drying the compressed air flowing through the compressed air control apparatus and a multi circuit protection valve (9) for supplying a plurality of circuits (I, II, III, IV, V) with compressed air. The multi circuit protection valve (9) includes at least one solenoid valve (35) including a deaerating connection (15) leading to the atmosphere and a plurality of overflow valves (18). Each of the overflow valves (18) is associated with one of the circuits (I, II, III, IV or V). The overflow valves (18) include a valve body (20), a flow chamber (23), a rear chamber (34), a first effective surface (22), a second effective surface (27), a third effective surface (33) and a spring (31) being located in the rear chamber (34). The valve body (20) separates the flow chamber (23) from the rear chamber (34). The valve body (20) has a first side facing the flow chamber (23) and a second side facing away from the flow chamber (23). The overflow valve (18) has an opening pressure being greater than its closing pressure to allow for limited backflow. The first effective surface is directly impinged with pressure by the solenoid valve. The third effective surface (33) is arranged either at the first side to be directly impinged with pressure or at the second side to be indirectly impinged with pressure.
Abstract:
A device for adjusting the phase angle of a camshaft of an internal combustion engine relative to the camshaft driving gear includes a hydraulic adjusting element which is connected with both a member supporting the drive gear and a member rigidly connected to the camshaft. Simple and reliable adjustment of the camshaft phase is obtained by providing the hydraulic adjusting element with a hydraulic pumping member which is driven by the drive gear, and a driving member connected to the camshaft, which is hydraulically driven by the pumping member, the outlet end of the pumping member being flow-connected to the inlet end of the driving member and the flow volume and/or pressure of the working fluid delivered from the pumping member to the driving member being regulated.
