摘要: A heat storage device of a vehicle may include an insulation container, a coolant passage connected to an engine, a heat exchanger having a fin formed on the coolant passage inside the insulation container, a phase change material charged in the insulation container to exchange heat with flowing coolant, a phase change material temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, an engine coolant temperature sensor, and a control portion that circulates the coolant according to the driving condition of the engine and the coolant temperature such that the coolant exchanges heat with the phase change material. Accordingly, fuel for warming an engine or heating an interior room is reduced, a separate heating device or a warm up device such as a PTC heater can be replaced, quality of the exhaust gas is quickly improved, and there is a merit in overcoming environmental regulations.

摘要: A method and apparatus for detecting the presence of a prescribed heat exchanger, such as a catalytically active radiator, in a motor vehicle are performed, during operation of the motor vehicle. The temperature of a heat-exchanger medium is observed together with further current operationally relevant parameters of the motor vehicle for a prespecified time window. An expected temperature gradient over time of the heat-exchanger medium is detected, as well as the current temperature gradient over time of the temperature of the heat-exchanger medium. The presence of a prescribed heat exchanger is detected taking into account the expected temperature gradient and the current temperature gradient.

摘要: The present invention relates to a system and a method for determining degradation of ozone conversion efficiency of an ozone-converting device in a vehicle. The system includes a heat-exchanging device, such as a radiator, covered with a catalytic coating capable of reducing ozone of the ambient air. The system further includes at least one temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of heat-exchanging device. The temperature is compared to a reference temperature in order to determine degradation in the devices ozone-converting efficiency.

摘要: A catalytic motor vehicle radiator for cooling a coolant flowing through it has a catalytically acting surface for converting a pollutant into an environmentally compatible material, a temperature sensor for sensing a coolant temperature, and an attachment point for attaching the temperature sensor. The temperature sensor has an attachment for attaching the temperature sensor to the attachment point of the catalytic motor vehicle radiator, and includes an electrical identification unit for identifying the catalytic motor vehicle radiator. The attachment interacts with an attachment point of the catalytic motor vehicle radiator in such a way that, if the temperature sensor is removed from the catalytic motor vehicle radiator, the temperature sensor is destroyed.

摘要: A catalyst coating 5 for decomposing ozone in the air is applied to an outer surface of cooling pipes 3 and radiating fins 4 of a radiator 2. A peel sensor 2 is provided on the catalyst coating 5 of the radiator 2 to detect a loss (remaining amount) of the catalyst coating 5. The position of detection of the peel sensor 2 is determined according to a temperature characteristic of the radiator 2, and a flow rate of the air passing through the radiator 2. The position of detection of the peel sensor 2 can be determined easily and appropriately, such that loss and deterioration of the catalyst coating 5 can be detected with high precision.

摘要: An engine assembly for a vehicle includes an engine crankshaft protruding from a front end of a cylinder block of the engine. A front cover is secured to the front end of the engine. A pump is positioned within the front cover and operatively connected with said engine crankshaft. A fluid passage is formed by the front cover for receiving pumped fluid from the pump and directing the fluid into the cylinder block. The fluid passage has an exit port with a curved portion of the passage positioned closely adjacent the exit port. A plastic insert is positioned within the curved portion and within the exit port. The plastic insert has a plurality of curved fluid flow vanes to direct flowing fluid through the curved portion in a manner to improve laminarity of flow in the curved portion and in the exit port to reduce fluid flow losses.
