    Abstract: A system and method for performing microphone gating operations, is disclosed. The system and method include a transmitter configured to emit a transmit signal towards an object and a receiver configured to receive a reflected signal from the object, the reflected signal corresponding to the transmit signal. The system and method also include a controller configured to instruct the transmitter to emit the transmit signal and receive the reflected signal from the receiver. The controller is further configured to detect motion of the object based upon the reflected signal and turn a microphone on or off based upon the motion of the object.

    Abstract: An audio transducer system, such as in-ear monitors, are connected to an audio base unit, such as a receiver body pack, using a bidirectional serial time-division multiplexed link. The bidirectional connecting cable has a single active conductor and a ground wire, a detachable connector to the receiver body pack and, preferably, a detachable connector to the sin-ear monitors. The invention provides for bidirectional communication between the audio base unit (receiver body pack) and the audio transducer system (in-ear monitors) and enables simultaneous and automatically configured DC power supply depending on the identified requirements.

    Abstract: A rotary fader apparatus includes a fader control knob that is directly attached to the rotor of a non-contact electrical motor. The apparatus may produce a fade effect based on the rotational position of the fader control knob and may be automated through signals to the motor. Such a rotary fader apparatus may be used, for example, in audio mixing applications to provide automated or manual rotary control of track fading. The motor may also be used to alter the feel of the movement of the fader control knob and/or provide tactile feedback in response to mixing parameters or signal properties.
