    Abstract: A polymerization apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a light irradiator; and a polymerization vessel. The light irradiator includes a first casing and a light source assembly. The first casing includes a light source chamber defined by cylindrical side walls, a ceiling, and a floor including a light-transmissive window member. The light source assembly includes a base having a light-emitting surface on which a plurality of light-emitting diodes is disposed in a predetermined pattern and a heat-dissipating surface to which a heat sink is joined, and the light source assembly is disposed within the light source chamber so that the light-emitting surface faces the light-transmissive window member. The polymerization vessel includes a polymerization cup and a second casing. The polymerization cup has a frustoconical or substantially frustoconical shape that opens upward and increases in diameter upward, and is capable of housing an object therein. The second casing is a bottomed cylindrical or box-shaped casing having an opening at the apex thereof, the polymerization cup being attachably/detachably housed in the second casing via the opening. In this polymerization apparatus, light that has been emitted by the plurality of light-emitting diodes of the light irradiator and has passed through the light-transmissive window member is applied to the inside of the polymerization cup of the polymerization vessel.

    Abstract: A curable composition for a denture base is provided which comprises a paste-like composition containing (A) (meth)acrylic monomers, (B) a monomer-absorbing porous organic cross-linked polymer which can absorb the (A) (meth)acrylic monomers, and (C) a polymerization initiator selected from a photopolymerization initiator and a thermal polymerization initiator, wherein the content of (B) the monomer-absorbing porous organic cross-linked polymer is 20-80 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the (A) (meth)acrylic monomers, and the absorption amount: RAb={(g−A)/(g−B)}, measured in accordance with JIS K5101-13-1:2004, and defined by the amount of (A) (meth)acrylic monomers: g−A (unit: g) absorbed per unit amount of (B) the monomer-absorbing porous organic cross-linked polymer: g−B (unit: g) is greater than or equal to 1.5.

    Abstract: Provided is a joining structure for processing which joins reliably and without misalignment a dental CAD/CAM block to be machined to a block holder for holding same onto a processing device. An engagement protrusion is formed on a block-side joint surface of a block to be processed, and an engagement recess is formed on a holder-side joint surface of a block holder. An adhesive retaining space is formed therebetween. An adhesive is applied thereto, and the engagement protrusion and the engagement recess are engaged and joined. The engagement protrusion formed on the block to be processed is rectangular or substantially rectangular. If the engagement protrusion extends from the front surface towards the back surface of the block to be processed, the protrusion can removed from a mold (shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B) by moving the protrusion in the direction of the arrow (shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B).

    Abstract: [Object] To provide, for a composite resin (CR) having a wide range of applicable colors (shades) (wide-ranging color applicable CR), such as a CR having light diffusion properties and a CR that produces color by means of a structural color, a technology with which an excellent effect, specifically, an increased breadth (number) of applicable shades in comparison to an existing CR other than a wide-ranging color applicable CR, can be achieved.
    [Solving Means] For example, in a demonstration instrument, a plurality of samples is prepared, a single wide-ranging color applicable CR has been used to restore a cavity in artificial teeth each having a different shade, the cavity being formed at a predetermined position of the artificial teeth, and the plurality of samples is disposed side by side and fixed on a display surface of a display plate, thereby making it possible to compare/contrast conditions of restored portions of the samples to each other and the color tone applicability thereof to those of a teeth to be restored.
