摘要: A display device has a white point light source, a condenser lens, a liquid crystal display, and an imaging lens. The white point light source has a substantial conjugate relationship with a user's pupil that is located on the front surface of the user's eyeball. The liquid crystal display has a substantial conjugate relationship with the user's retina. The scattering plate is further provided to broaden the bundle width of the light at a location in the vicinity of the user's pupil.

摘要: Maintenance performance is promoted and a vivid printed image is provided in an electrophotographic device capable of conducting color printing. Cartridges corresponding to different printing colors, each of which includes a photosensitive body, are stacked in a vertical direction. A recording sheet is fed along a sheet feeding path and brought into contact with the photosensitive bodies corresponding to the respective colors, and toner images of the respective printing colors are transferred on the recording sheet. A transfer belt for feeding the recording sheet is arranged in a front cover, and the transfer belt is exposed when the front cover is opened. Therefore, correcting a mis-feeding of the recording sheet is facilitated. Also, the respective cartridges are spaced apart such that optical paths are provided between the cartridges so that optical beams corresponding to the respective printing colors may be directly irradiated onto the corresponding photosensitive bodies. In addition, the cartridges and optical scanners are mounted on the device using materials having substantially the same coefficient of thermal expansion so that changes in the ambient temperature will not affect the relative positions of the scanners and the photosensitive bodies.

摘要: A fixing device includes a fixing unit, a power controller, a pressure applying unit, and a timing controller. The fixing unit fixes toner onto a recording medium transported in a determined transport direction, by using heat generated by a heat generator. The power controller controls supply of power for heating the fixing unit. The pressure applying unit applies pressure to the recording medium in a nip part formed between the pressure applying unit and the fixing unit. The timing controller controls the power controller to start supply of the power at a time which is a determined time period prior to an arrival time at which a leading edge of the recording medium in the transport direction arrives at the nip part.

摘要: An apparatus is disclosed for projecting patterned electromagnetic waves onto an object. This apparatus includes: an electromagnetic-wave source; a modulating element allowing at least part of an electromagnetic wave incoming from the source to be modulated; and a selector for allowing a selected one of angular components of an electromagnetic wave outgoing from the modulating element, to pass through the selector. The modulating element is shaped to include at least one pair of two portions having different surface shapes. One of the two portions allows one of the angular components which has a radiant angle characteristic that achieves a predetermined entrance numerical aperture, to go out as a component which will be selected by the selector. The other allows one of the angular components which has a radiant angle characteristic that does not achieve the entrance numerical aperture, to go out as a component which will not be selected by the selector.

摘要: An image forming machine includes an exposure unit and a pressure development unit for forming an image on a microcapsule coated sheet. The exposure unit includes a plurality of light emitting elements, a substrate having reflective recesses formed in the surface thereof, the plurality of light emitting elements being disposed in the recesses, and a mask having openings formed opposite the plurality of light emitting elements. The reflective recess prevents light from the light emitting element from exiting through the pinhole other than the pinhole opposed to that light emitting element, thus improving the efficiency of utilization of exposure light. A partition may be provided between the light emitting elements.
