摘要： An image communication apparatus has a read unit for reading a document sheet image and a battery power supply. The read unit has a voltage conversion unit for converting power supplied directly from the battery power supply. 摘要： There is provided a data communicating apparatus such as a facsimile which can use a portable device such as a card-like electronic telephone directory. The apparatus comprises: a receiver to receive a signal from the portable device; a data communicating circuit; a designating device to designate a data communicating mode of the data communicating circuit; a capturing circuit to capture a line; and a controller for driving the capturing circuit so as to capture the line in accordance with a predetermined signal received by the receiver, for transmitting the dial signal to the line, and for controlling the data communicating circuit in accordance with the data communicating mode designated by the designating device. The use functions of the communicating apparatus can be limited from the portable device.

摘要： A facsimile apparatus selectively uses a cut recording sheet or a roll-like recording sheet. The facsimile apparatus has a housing, constituting the outer surface of the apparatus. An original reading section is provided for conveying an original between a first opening portion, formed in a front portion of the upper surface of the housing, and a front surface opening portion, formed in a front surface of the housing. A recording section is provided for inserting a recording sheet through a second opening portion, formed in the upper surface of the housing at a position closer to the rear side than the first opening portion and for discharging the recording sheet through the first opening portion. A roll-like sheet holder supplies a roll-like recording sheet from a rear portion of the housing.

摘要： A communication apparatus receives the identification information of a partner station, and performs a communication operation in accordance with the received identification information. A first detecting unit detects a calling signal. An identification information receiving unit detects the identification information of a calling party upon detection of the calling signal, and a second detecting unit detects whether or not the terminal of the calling party is a data communication terminal. A registration unit registers the identification information of the partner station in a memory, so that whether the partner station is a speech or data communication terminal can be discriminated later. A control unit checks if the identification information receiving unit receives the identification information of the calling party. When the identification information of the calling party is received, the control unit checks if the-received identification information is registered in the memory, and selectively executes a speech communication process and a data communication process in accordance with the checking result and the detection result of the second detecting unit.

摘要： A facsimile communication system and a communication apparatus reduce a loss time due to the synchronization of transmission/reception and shorten a communication time. They also shorten a communication time in a full duplex communication mode and allow proper switching of the full duplex communication at the transmission/reception replacement. DIS-CFR signals, EOP-DCN signals, NSS-TSI signals and TSI-DCS signals of a facsimile communication protocol are connected by synchronization signals so that the synchronization signals are sent even after the sending of the protocol signal. Thus, the sending of the synchronization signal for one second when the next protocol signal is sent is not necessary and a time required for the protocol signal is shortened. An ANSam signal to disable a function of an echo suppressor is sent when a call is detected and a calling station thereafter sends a protocol signal and an image signal in a manner not to cause signal interruption of 50 ms or longer, and at transmission/reception replacement at the end of the image signal from the calling station, a called station sends an ANSam signal and sends a protocol signal.
