Abstract:
Disclosed herein are cleaning compositions effective for cleaning an oral appliance or device. The cleaning composition can include: (i) a compound of Formula (I): wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R2 is C(O)R3, R3 is a C7-C9 alkyl group, and n is an integer from 2 to 5; and (ii) a second component selected from the group consisting of persulfate (e.g., peroxymonosulfate and peroxydisulfate) salts, percarbonate salts, perborate salts, hypochlorite salts, dichloroisocyanurate salts, trichloroisocyanurate salts, tetraacetylethylenediamine, perphosphate salts, and combinations thereof. Optionally, the cleaning composition can further include water.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides for a dental mill blank and a method of forming the dental mill blank. The dental mill blank includes a first layer (102) of a first hard restorative material having a first translucency and a first shade, a second layer (104) of a second hard restorative material having a second translucency and a second shade, where at least one of the following is true: the first translucency is different from the second translucency, the first shade is different from the second shade. The first layer (102) and the second layer (104) form a first interface having a first curve (112) across a first plane of symmetry (114) of the dental mill blank, where the first curve (112) has a different from zero curvature; and a first straight line (122) along the entire length of a second plane (118) of the dental mill blank, the second plane (118) being orthogonal to the first plane of symmetry (114).
Abstract:
Calcium phosphate particles are described comprising a surface treatment wherein the surface treatment comprises at least one sugar alcohol. Also described are various oral care compositions comprising surface treated calcium phosphate particles and methods of surface treating calcium phosphate particles.
Abstract:
Compositions that include: from 5 wt-% to 30 wt-% of one or more plant based oils based on the total weight of the composition; from 70 wt-% to 95 wt-% of an aqueous phase based on the total weight of the composition; from 0.1 wt-% to 5 wt-% of one or more surfactants based on the total weight of the composition; and from 0.05 wt-% to 3 wt-% of a viscosity modifier, wherein the composition has a pH from 4.5 to 9.5, the composition is an oil in water (o/w) emulsion, and the composition is edible. Methods of utilizing disclosed compositions are also included.
Abstract:
An aqueous oral care one-part composition (e.g., solution), a kit that includes such composition (e.g., solution), and methods (e.g., a method of providing fluoride to a patients tooth surface), wherein the oral care composition (e.g., solution) includes: silver cations; thiocyanate anions; fluoride anions; and water.
Abstract:
A method for making a dental appliance configured to position at least one tooth of a patient includes printing a hardenable liquid resin composition on a major surface of a polymeric material to form a pattern thereon, wherein the hardenable liquid resin composition includes a glass ionomer, a resin modified glass ionomer, and mixtures and combinations thereof. A dental appliance is formed from the polymeric material that includes an arrangement of cavities configured to receive one or more teeth.
Abstract:
A dental appliance is described, the dental appliance including a polymeric substrate with a plurality of cavities for receiving one or more teeth, an arrangement of engineered microstructures on the substrate wherein the engineered microstructures include a therapeutic agent. The microstructures may be three-dimensionally engineered on a polymeric film disposed on a major surface of the polymeric substrate, wherein the microstructures extend outwards from the surface. The microstructures also comprise a compound releasable from the three-dimensionally engineered microstructures over a predetermined patient wear time.
Abstract:
The present application provides dental fillers, and methods of making and using dental fillers that include a treated surface that includes a phosphate salt. Dental compositions including such dental fillers can be useful for delivering ions to the oral environment. Dental compositions, and methods of using dental compositions that include a phosphate salt and a hardenable resin or a water-dispersible, polymeric film former are also provided.
