    Abstract: A display may have curved edges such as rounded corners. Pixels in the display may be controlled so that the active area of the display has the desired curved edge shape. In order to maximize the apparent smoothness of the curved edge, the display may include circuitry that dims some of the pixels based on their location relative to a spline for the curved edge. The display circuitry may include a multiplication circuit that receives image data as a first input and dimming factors from a gain table as a second input. The image data may include a brightness level for each pixel in the array of pixels. The multiplication circuit may multiply the brightness level for each pixel by its respective dimming factor. This modified image data may then be supplied to the imaging pixels using display driver circuitry.

    Abstract: An electronic display having pixels and control circuitry to drive the pixels to display image data even during relatively long presentation times without visual artifacts, such as flicker, are provided. The control circuitry may cause the pixel to perform a threshold voltage sampling and pixel programming phase to store image data for the pixel while accounting for a first threshold voltage of the first transistor. Afterward, an on-bias stress phase may cause a threshold voltage of the first transistor of the plurality of transistors to reach a second threshold voltage. Following the on-bias stress phase, a first emission phase may cause the light-emitting diode to emit light in accordance with the image data, and subsequent on-bias stress phases and subsequent emission phases for the duration of the presentation time may take place without a visible flicker artifact.

The pixels may be organic light-emitting diode pixels that each include an organic light-emitting diode and thin-film transistor circuitry for controlling the diode or may be other suitable display pixels. The pixels may form an active area of the display that displays images. Display driver circuitry may be provided in an inactive border area of the display. The display may include vertical gate lines. The display may also include data lines. The data lines may include vertical data line portions and orthogonal horizontal data line portions coupled to the vertical data line portions with vias. During operation, data from the display driver circuitry may be provided to rows of the pixels using the data lines while the vertical gate lines supply control signals to columns of the pixels.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided to reduce noise present in sensing circuits used for calibrating light emitting diodes (e.g., organic light emitting diodes) in electronic display devices. Such a system may include a display that renders image data using self-emissive pixels. Values on the pixels may be sensed using a current source that outputs a current and a comparator that receives the current. The comparator changes states when a voltage signal output by the capacitor crosses a first threshold voltage or a second threshold voltage. A controller receives a first time when the comparator component changes states based on the voltage signal, receives a second time when the comparator component changes states based on the voltage signal, determines a current value based on the first time and the second time, and calibrates a pixel based on the current value.
