摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides apparatus and methods for queuing access by large numbers of Internet or other network-based users to networked systems and resources with limited capacity. In one example embodiment, a queuing system provides user access to network resources, such as that of a ticketing system. A computer system receives a first request for a first resource The first request is queued in computer readable memory. A determination is made that the first request for the first resource has been abandoned. A queued second request is identified, wherein the second request is similar to the first request. The second request is associated with the abandoned first resource.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for executing tasks selected based on locations of user devices. A first user device associated with an access right to a resource can be identified. The location of the first user device can be determined at a time before a defined time period. Further, a protocol execution condition can be detected. Upon detecting the protocol execution condition, executing a protocol. Executing the protocol can include determining a distance between the first user device and a resource location. Whether the distance between the first user device and the resource location is less than or equal to a distance range of the resource location at a time prior to the defined time period can be determined. In response to determining that the distance is not less than or equal to the distance range, accessing a plurality of tasks, selecting a task, and executing the task.

摘要: Methods and systems of determining the approximate location of a terminal are described herein. In one embodiment, a computer system receives from a first mobile computer terminal and/or from a communication system in communication with the first mobile computer terminal, global positioning satellite and/or cellular network location data, wherein the location data corresponds to the approximate location of the first mobile computer terminal. Based at least in part on the location data, the system determines if the first mobile computer terminal is within a first area, wherein presence in the first area is needed in order to be authorized to access a first service. The system, at least partly in response to failing to determine that the first mobile terminal is in the first area, transmits to the first mobile computer terminal location information regarding at least a first location in the first area.

In an embodiment, a computer system is configured to receive bids over a network from a first plurality of users for a limited number of units, the bids including associated bid amounts. A data store is operable to store the bid amounts. Program code is stored in computer readable memory and is configured to determine which bids are winning bids, determine a unit price for units associated with the winning bids, wherein the unit price associated with the winning bids is based on the lowest winning bid amount, and units can be tickets.
