    摘要: A powertrain is provided with an input clutch that is disengagable to allow a transmission input member to rotate independently of engine speed under power of a motor and provide an alternative way to power vehicle accessories otherwise driven by engine torque, while still allowing the motor to start the engine. A powertrain having a parallel combination of input clutches including a friction input clutch and a selectable one-way clutch is provided, as well as a method of control of such a powertrain. Another method of controlling a hybrid vehicle powertrain includes starting the engine via torque from a motor with the input clutch biased in an engaged position. If vehicle operating conditions are more efficiently met without operating the engine, the input clutch is disengaged to so that torque is provided only by the motor to the output member and to vehicle accessories operatively connected to the input member.

    摘要: An electrically variable transmission includes: an input member to receive power from an engine; an output member; first and second motor/generators; and first and second differentially geared planetary gear sets each having first, second and third gear members. The input member is continuously connected to the first member of the first planetary gear set, and the output member is continuously connected to the first member of the second planetary gear set. The first motor/generator is continuously connected to the second member of the first planetary gear set, and selectively connected to the second member of the second planetary gear set. The second motor/generator is continuously connected with the third member of the second planetary gear set. A first torque transfer device selectively grounds the second member of the second planetary gear set. A second torque transfer device selectively connects the second member of the second planetary gear set to the second member of the first planetary gear set. An optional third torque transfer device selectively grounds the third member of the first planetary gear set. An optional fourth torque transfer device selectively connects at least two of the members together such that all members of the first planetary gear set rotate together at the same speed. An optional fifth torque transfer device selectively connects the third member of the first planetary gear set with the third member of the second planetary gear set.

    摘要: A compound-split electrically variable transmission has two electrical power units, two planetary gearsets, a prime mover, and two selectively engageable torque-transmitting mechanisms. The torque-transmitting mechanisms are selectively engaged to provide a reverse and first range and a second range of operation, wherein the reverse and first range is an input-split range of operation and the second range is a compound-split range of operation. The torque-transmitting mechanisms are simultaneously engaged at an interchange point between the first and second ranges of operation. This interchange point is a synchronous speed interchange point, such that the torque-transmitting mechanisms are engaged and disengaged without slipping forces being transmitted.

The dual element pump has at least one input port connected to the sump, a first outlet port, and a second outlet port. The dual element pump provides a first volume of hydraulic fluid to the first outlet port and provides a second volume of hydraulic fluid to the second outlet port. The first volume is greater than the second volume. The first outlet port is connected to a diversion valve. The second outlet port is connected to a high pressure hydraulic circuit. The diversion valve is operable to transmit the hydraulic fluid from the first outlet port to a low pressure hydraulic circuit and the high pressure hydraulic circuit.
