    摘要: A pallet dismantling tool having a body member, a handle, and lever extensions. The handle is mounted on the body member in angular relation to the lever extensions for forming leveraged functioning of the latter to pry off pallet deck boards when the handle is operated to rotate the body member. In one embodiment, a plurality of jaw members comprise the lever extensions and have forwardly opening slots that receive a deck board of a pallet edgewise. The jaw members are selectively arranged in number and position corresponding to that of the pallet spacers when engaging a deck board whereby to remove a deck board simultaneously from all the spacers. The jaw members are adjustable to accommodate different structures and sizes of pallets.

    摘要: A cutter head assembly for dismantling pallets includes a cross member pivotally supported on a machine. The cross member supports one or more cutter heads thereon in forwardly projecting operational position which is freely slidable in a lateral direction. The cutter heads have an offbearing tray for portions of the pallets. The assembly of cutter heads is tiltable rearwardly on the pivot support to an upper maintenance position. Lock pins hold the cutter head assembly positively between the down operational position and the up maintenance position. The center of gravity of the cutter head assembly is at the pivot support to provide a balanced structure, and a spring loaded member is provided to urge the assembly rotatably down to its operational position. The spring loaded member also maintains the cutter head assembly in its maintenance position. A positive lock is provided between the cutter head assembly and the machine frame in both of these positions.

    摘要: A fuel dispensing and vapor recovery nozzle includes a body portion having a fuel passageway therethrough, a main valve in the fuel passageway for controlling the flow of fuel therethrough, a manually operable valve actuating lever for opening the main valve, a pivot member mounting the lever for pivotal movement, an elongate pivot mounting member carrying the pivot member and mounted for sliding longitudinal movement, a venturi responsive to fuel flow through the fuel passageway for creating a vacuum, a shut-off passageway from the venturi to the spout adapted to be closed when the fuel tank is filled, a locking device normally locking the pivot mounting member against longitudinal movement so that the pivot member is stationary and the lever is operable to open the main valve, a vacuum responsive device for rendering the locking device inoperable upon the shut-off passageway becoming blocked, a vapor recovery passageway in the body portion extending longitudinally therethrough, a vapor recovery passageway in the spout and having a large area inlet in the side of the spout near but spaced from the outer end of the spout and an outlet opening in the side of the spout near but externally of the body portion and vapor confinement and a directing sleeve for confining vapors leaving the outlet opening and directing those vapors into the vapor recovery passageway in the body portion.

    摘要: A remote laser locator system for viewing a wide field of view and detecting the angular position of a remote laser. A laser beam directed toward the sensor from any position within a 90 degree circular field-of-view can be detected to a positional accuracy of less than 0.1 degree in a two-axis coordinate system. The system utilizes an inline or coaxial optical sensor having field-of-view (FOV) optics that compress the field-of-view. The compressed output from the FOV optics is directed through a polarizer and filter to a phase shifter. The phase shifter, a pair of birefringent crystals, encodes the angle of incidence of the laser beam as a phase shift between the two components of the polarized input beam. Subsequently, an analyzer such as a Wollaston prism decomposes the beam into two linear component beams. These component beams are processed through a second phase shifter and an analyzer pair which are rotated axially with respect to the first pair to provide four distinct component beams. These components are condensed through a reimager lens and coupled to an array of intensity detectors. The array detector outputs are then combined to provide two normalized signal proportional to a trigonometric function of the two components of the angle of incidence of the laser beam, indicative of its position in space.

    摘要: A lightweight telescopic lens of monolithic construction is revealed that corporates additional refractive and reflective curved surfaces to produce all the optical functions performed by an ordinary telescope. A pair of such lenses may be mounted in an eyeglass frame to yield a telescope that can be worn like a pair of eyeglasses, thus affording superior image stability as well as free the user's hands. Minor modifications involving the use of several menisci of a different index of refraction from that of the core lens can be made to achieve achromatism of emergent light from achromatic input light. The entire core lens can also be shaped into a meniscus to take advantage of the principle of total internal reflection, thereby increasing the light-gathering aperture while at the same time rendering the lens even more compact and lightweight.
