摘要: The invention relates to a radio resource control method, a mobile communications system and a network element implementing the method. According to the invention, the cell change procedures performed by the user equipment in an idle state are controlled dynamically with control information that is adjusted according to a predetermined time pattern. The invention enables for instance an advanced cell change in an idle state, thus reducing the probability of a handover while the user equipment is in a dedicated connection to the network.

摘要: There is proposed a mechanism for controlling a communication connection of a user equipment in a communication network. The communication network comprises at least a core network subsystem having at least one core network control element, and a first access network subsystem and at least a second access network subsystem. On one hand, when it is detected that at least one connection parameter of a communication connection of the user equipment can not be maintained by the first access network subsystem, a connection modification message is sent to the core network control element. The core network control element responds with an acknowledgement message the acknowledgement message comprising an instruction parameter for instructing that the communication connection of the user equipment is to be changed to the second access network subsystem being determined to having the capability to provide the connection parameter. On the other hand, when a change of a communication connection of the user equipment from the first access network subsystem to the second access network subsystem is to be performed, it is checked whether or not the cell change is executable. On the basis of the result of the checking step, a message is sent to the core network control element comprising an information element about the execution of the change of the access network subsystem.

摘要: A method for transferring user equipment from a current cell during an ongoing communication is disclosed. The current cell belongs to a first network. In the method capability information for at least one available cell of a second network is determined in a controller of the current cell, where after at least one cell of the second network is selected based on the capability information to prepare a transfer of the user equipment from the current cell. Information regarding the selected at least one cell of the second network is then sent from the controller to the user equipment.

摘要: Signal strength measurements for different frequencies in different cells are calibrated in a cellular communications system. The signal strength of first and second frequencies in at least one cell of a plurality of cells is repeatedly measured. A measurement history is created for said first and second frequencies in at least the one cell. Each measurement history is based on the signal strength measurements of one of the first and second frequencies in the respective one cell. The measurement histories are stored. A respective correction factor is determined for each possible pair of first and second frequencies in at least the one cell. Each correction factor is based on the stored measurement history of the first and second frequencies in the pair. The respective correction factor for a pair of first and second frequencies cell is applied when comparing the signal strength measurements of the first and second frequencies in said pair.

摘要: Subscribers are segmented in a telecommunications by allocating given first subscribers network resources with a lower priority than second subscribers, but allowing the first subscribers to temporarily upgrade their subscription by a self-service request. On detecting the request, the network updates the charging correspondingly and adapts the resource allocation of the first subscribers who made the request for a predetermined period and/or amount of phone calls. The network is also capable of signaling the subscribers their current resource allocation priority so that the subscribers can provide respective users with a feedback of changes in resource allocation. The mechanism is also applicable for temporarily lowering the priority of given subscribers in resource allocation.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention are directed to methods, apparatuses and systems for providing a service, utilizing Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), to a user in a communications network. According to one example of the invention, a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) message is received from an unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) server or gateway. Relevant content is then retrieved from a database upon receiving the HTTP message. A USSD message content is created based on a set of parameters, the USSD message content is sent to the USSD server, and the relevant content may then be provided to a user terminal in a text message.

摘要: There is described a method for creating a thermally-isolated microstructure on a slab of mono-crystalline silicon which uses a hybrid dry-then-wet etch technique that when controlled, can produce microstructures without any silicon adhering underneath, microstructures having small masses of silicon adhering underneath, and microstructures that are still attached to the slab of mono-crystalline silicon via a waisted silicon body. When creating the microstructures with a waisted silicon body, the thermal isolation of the microstructure can be designed by controlling the depth of the etching and the size of the waist.
