    Abstract: A process for the preparation of a polypropylene in a sequential polymerization process including a pre-polymerization reactor and at least two polymerization reactors connected in series. The polymerization in the at least two polymerization reactors takes place in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst. The Ziegler-Natta catalyst includes (a) a pro-catalyst that has a compound of a transition metal, a compound of a metal which metal is selected from one of the groups 1 to 3 of the periodic table (IUPAC), and an internal electron donor, (b) a co-catalyst, and (c) an external donor. The Ziegler-Natta catalyst is present in the pre-polymerization reactor. Ethylene and propylene are fed to the pre-polymerization reactor in a feed rate ratio of 0.5 to 10.0 g/kg.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a propylene polymer composition comprising (a) at least 90 wt. %, based on the weight of the total propylene homopolymer composition, of a propylene homopolymer having (i) a pentad isotacticity (mmmm) of equal or more than 98.0 mol.-%, determined by quantitative 13C NMR spectroscopy, (ii) a relative amount of erythro regio-defects of not more than 0.2 mol.-%, determined by quantitative 13C NMR spectroscopy, as described herein, and (b) a nucleating agent (B) selective for the beta-modification of isotactic polypropylene in an amount of from 0.001 to 1.0 wt. %, based on the weight of the total propylene homopolymer composition, wherein said propylene homopolymer composition has a melt flow rate MFR2 (230° C., 2.16 kg) according to ISO 1133 of 0.1 to 10 g/10 min., a beta-phase content of not less than 80%, measured by wide angle x-ray scattering (WAXS). Further disclosed is a moulded propylene homopolymer product obtainable by compression moulding or extrusion of the propylene homopolymer composition.

    Abstract: The present invention refers to a structure comprising a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film having at least one layer comprising a homopolymer of propylene which layer is in contact with an oil phase, the homopolymer of propylene has a) a content of isotactic pentads in the range from 95% to 98%, and b) a content of ash of not more than 30 ppm, based on the total weight of the homopolymer of propylene, characterized in that the oil phase has an absorbance value of ≤0.1, relative to the pure oil, as determined spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 860 nm by the reduction of transmitted light intensity. The present invention further refers to the use of a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film for making capacitors comprising said structure, wherein the oil phase has an absorbance value of ≤0.1, relative to the pure oil, as determined spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 860 nm by the reduction of transmitted light intensity as well as the use of the homopolymer of propylene for increasing the life time of a capacitor.
