    摘要: A bipolar push rod assembly is disclosed in conjunction with an endoscopic bipolar cautery scissors instrument. The push rod assembly has two conductive push rods which are substantially covered and insulated from each other by a double lumen flexible sheath. The proximal ends of the push rods are stabilized by an overmolded plastic collar and the distal ends of the push rods are stabilized by a ceramic insulator. The plastic collar is provided with a snap retainer for coupling it to a plastic plug retainer having a pair of spaced apart passages. A pair of female plug adapters are press fit onto the proximal ends of the push rods and are maintained in place by the plug retainer with each adaptor residing in a respective one of the passages. The distal ends of the push rods are swaged approximately 90.degree. in opposite directions. A ceramic insulator is disclosed as a one-piece unit into which the distal ends of the push rods are inserted. Another ceramic insulator is disclosed as a two-piece member which fits around the distal ends of the push rods. A double lumen sealing gasket which interrupts the double lumen sheath is also disclosed.

    摘要: In contrast to reducing the temperature of the heat exchange medium or water so as to conserve on fuel consumption in response to an externally located thermostat or the like upon the occurence of favorable ambient weather conditions, said reduction in accordance with the present invention is, instead, made based on nominal operation of the pump circulating said heat exchange water. The within control that is exercised over the temperature of the heat exchange water to take advantage of mild ambient weather conditions is thus not dependent upon the specific location selected for the thermostat, which location may have more sun and less wind than the spaces or zones being heated. In this and other ways, as hereinafter described, the supervision of the pump provides an accurate and effective control for a hot water heating system that significantly contributes to savings in fuel consumption, but without adversely affecting heating comfort.

    摘要: A biopsy instrument and method of using such are provided wherein the biopsy instrument includes a proximal actuation handle, an elongate flexible member, and a distal assembly. The flexible member, connected to and extending from the actuation handle, includes an aspiration conduit for fluid connection with a vacuum source and for permitting the flow of fluid from the distal end to the proximal end of the biopsy instrument. The flexible member may include an irrigation conduit for supplying irrigation fluid to the distal end. The actuation handle includes a stationary member and an actuation device, and may include a sample chamber, a sample collector, valves for regulating the vacuum in the aspiration conduit and the fluid flow in the irrigation conduit, and a pressure increasing device for selectively increasing the pressure of the fluid supplied to the distal end. The distal assembly, coupled to the distal end of the flexible member, may be comprised of a movable jaw and a stationary jaw, or of first and second movable jaws. With the jaws in a closed position, the distal assembly may provide a substantially fluidtight passageway at the distal end of the aspiration conduit. The movable jaws are coupled to the actuation device, such that actuation of the actuation handle moves the movable jaws relative to the flexible member, thereby opening and closing the distal assembly.

    摘要: A clasp device with a female member defined by an annular body and a male member adapted to be received into said female member. The female member is of unitary construction with a first opening and a second opening. These openings are spaced apart from one another with a passageway formed therebetween. The male member has a base member and a projecting member; the projecting member being affixed to and spaced apart from the base member through a positioning pin disposed in a space between the base member and the projecting member. This positioning pin is slidable through the passageway after the male member is inserted into said first opening of the female member and the female member is between the base member and said projecting member.The male member is slidable into locking engagement with the female member by urging the positioning pin through the passageway into the second female opening, and locking the male and female members takes place by rotational movement of the male member. This urges the positioning pin to assume an orientation with respect to the second female opening sufficient to inhibit slidable movement of the male member with respect to said female member, through said passageway. Movement through the passageway takes place when the central axis of the male member is at 90.degree. with respect to a central axis of said female member and by rotating the male member 90.degree., relative to said female member the positioning pin causes locking to take place.
