    摘要: An optical pickup unit for an optical disk drive, comprises a lens holder (27) including a lens having an optical axis, suspension wire members (33-36) suspend the lens holder (27) in a support frame in a cantilever fashion. The wire members constrain movement of the lens holder relative to the support frame, but allowing at least a translation in a focussing or axial direction (z), parallel to the optical axis of a lens in the lens holder (27). The wire members are fixed to the lens holder in positions at a distance from each other at least in focussing and tracking directions (z, x). The wire members are bent around an axis parallel to the radial direction (x) so as to allow an at least limited rotation about an axis in a tracking or radial direction (x) as well. In this way, an active alpha tilt correction is made possible with simple means.

    摘要: A disk drive unit having a disk loading mechanism, for use in a mobile device. The loading mechanism is arranged for receiving a disk (A) through an opening in a housing of the device and bringing it into engagement with the disk drive, and vice versa. It comprises a tray (8) which is movable with respect to the housing and the disk drive between a first position for receiving a disk and a second position covering the opening and allowing the disk drive to engage the disk. The tray is rotatable about an axis (10) which substantially coincides with the drive axis (11) when in its driving position. This arrangement results in a slot loader having a tray which will hardly project outside the housing, resulting in a robust loading mechanism.

    摘要: A disk cartridge comprises a disk (1) having a central hub (4) for engagement with a disk drive. The disk is accommodated in a housing (2). The housing and disk are dimensioned such that there is limited clearance in a direction parallel to and perpendicular to the plane of the disk. The cartridge comprises a clamping member (11), such as a magnet, to clamp the disk to one side of the cartridge housing when the cartridge is free from the disk drive. The housing and the disk have co-operating centering members (13, 14), preferably near the center of the disk, so as to center the disk with respect to the cartridge housing when the disk is clamped to the housing by the clamping member. In this way, the disk is always in the correct position for a next engagement by the disk drive.

    摘要: The invention provides a drive system for driving a lens holder (6) of the optical system in a disk drive unit. It comprises a movable part (8) connected to the lens holder, and a base (7) including a guide (9) for guiding the movable part. A drive motor comprises a stator (12) fixed with respect to the base and a translator (13) movable with respect to the stator upon actuation of the motor. A return mechanism (21) is connected between the translator and the movable part for bringing the rotor/translator in a starting position with respect to the movable part in a rest condition of the drive motor. A portion (18) of the movable part is in the path of movement of the translator, while there is a free stroke (20) between the portion of the movable part and the translator in the starting position of the translator. As a result, the translator will hit the movable part, thereby overcoming the static friction between the movable part and the base.
