摘要: Tissue treatment systems for cardiac surgical procedures can include an ablation and monitoring assembly having a first ablation element, a second ablation element, and a monitoring mechanism. Treatment methods may involve placing an ablation and monitoring assembly of the tissue treatment system at a patient tissue treatment site, applying a first ablative energy to a first tissue location via the first ablation element and a second ablative energy to a second tissue location via the second ablation element, monitoring a condition of the first tissue location with the monitoring mechanism, and modulating application of the first ablative energy to the first tissue location in response to the condition of the first tissue location while maintaining application of the second ablative energy to the second tissue location. Embodiments also include techniques for assessing a conduction delay across a lesion that involve evaluating local activation rates on various sides of a lesion.

摘要: A catheter manufacturing method includes the step of providing a hollow cylindrical part of a catheter, having a longitudinal axis, to be bonded to a given part along respective edge surfaces of the hollow cylindrical and the given parts. One or more undercut structures that are disposed circumferentially with respect to the longitudinal axis and also generally parallel to the longitudinal axis, the undercut structures having a radial orientation with respect to the longitudinal axis, are formed at least in the edge surface of the hollow cylindrical part. The hollow cylindrical part and the given part are connected using the undercut structures.

摘要: A manipulable portion of a catheter system advances out of a lumen of a catheter sheath at a distal end of a shaft, which is also within the lumen of the catheter sheath. The catheter system causes different advancement and retraction trajectories of a manipulable portion out of and into the lumen based at least upon different relative movements between the catheter sheath and the shaft. A projection and a corresponding receiver may be used to control relative positioning of the catheter sheath and the shaft, as well as to control positioning of the manipulable portion. The catheter system may control metering rates of a control element coupled to the manipulable portion during advancement and retraction of the manipulable portion. A control element of the catheter system has varying amounts of length outside a distal end of the catheter sheath during advancement and retraction of the manipulable portion.

摘要: A catheter adapted or high density mapping and/or ablation of tissue surface has a distal electrode matrix having a plurality of spines arranged in parallel configuration on which a multitude of electrodes are carried in a grid formation for providing uniformity and predictability in electrode placement on the tissue surface. The matrix can be dragged against the tissue surface upon deflection (and/or release of the deflection) of the catheter. The spines generally maintain their parallel configuration and the multitude of electrodes generally maintain their predetermined relative spacing in the grid formation as the matrix is dragged across the tissue surface in providing very high density mapping signals. The spines may have free distal ends, or distal ends that are joined to form loops for maintaining the spines in parallel configuration.

摘要: One aspect includes a manufacturing method for a multielectrode system including providing several conductors, which are electrically conductive in their longitudinal direction; bundling the conductors at a proximal portion of the multielectrode system by means of a sheath surrounding the conductors to form a conductor bundle configured to be used as a lead of the multielectrode system; and providing several ring electrodes each surrounding one of the conductors at a distal portion of the multielectrode system and electrically connecting the ring electrodes and the conductors to form a multielectrode array of the multielectrode system. The multielectrode array is configured to be in a longitudinally extended or in a transversally expanded configuration.

摘要: A medical device is disclosed, which is capable of preventing a maintenance treatment element imparting energy to biological tissue from being displaced from a treatment target site and a treatment method performed on a heart failure patient. A medical device is disclosed, which includes a shaft portion, an expandable and contractible expansion body provided on a distal side of the shaft portion, and a maintenance treatment element disposed in the expansion body and imparting energy to biological tissue. The expansion body includes a concave portion recessed in a direction intersecting with an axial direction of the shaft portion. The maintenance treatment element is disposed in the concave portion.

摘要: A system includes a processor and a display. The processor is configured to: receive a first plurality of ultrasound (US) images acquired at a site of an organ from a first plurality of positions and orientations, before performing a medical procedure at the site; receive a second plurality of US images acquired at the site, from a second plurality of positions and orientations, after performing the medical procedure at the site; and identify among the first and second plurality of US images, one or more pairs of first and second US images, respectively, which are acquired from matched orientations, and select a given pair among the pairs, in which a difference between the first and second US images is largest among the identified pairs. The display is configured to display the given pair of the first and second US images to a user.

摘要: Intra-cardiac voltage data display systems display a plurality of data sets derived at least from intra-cardiac voltage data sampled by an electrode. In some embodiments, at least some of the data sets are derived from a portion of the intra-cardiac voltage data that excludes an excludable portion of the intra-cardiac voltage data having a relationship with an occurrence of a particular cardiac event to facilitate identification of the existence of a transmural lesion in tissue adjacent the electrode. In some embodiments, the particular cardiac event is the occurrence of an R wave in the cardiac cycle, and the excludable portion is a V wave in the cardiac cycle.
