    摘要: A solid electrolyte represented by general formula LiySiRx(MO4), where x is an integer from 1 to 3 inclusive, y=4−x, each R present is independently C1-C3 alkyl or C1-C3 alkoxy, and M is sulfur, selenium, or tellurium. Methods of making the solid electrolyte include combining a phenylsilane and a first acid to yield mixture including benzene and a second acid, and combining at least one of an alkali halide, and alkali amide, and an alkali alkoxide with the second acid to yield a product d represented by general formula LiySiRx(MO4)y. The second acid may be in the form of a liquid or a solid. The phenylsilane includes at least one C1-C3 alkyl substituent or at least one C1-C3 alkoxy substituent, and the first acid includes at least one of sulfuric acid, selenic acid, and telluric acid.

    摘要: Novel chain polymers comprising weakly basic anionic moieties chemically bound into a polyether backbone at controllable anionic separations are presented. Preferred polymers comprise orthoborate anions capped with dibasic acid residues, preferably oxalato or malonato acid residues. The conductivity of these polymers is found to be high relative to that of most conventional salt-in-polymer electrolytes. The conductivity at high temperatures and wide electrochemical window make these materials especially suitable as electrolytes for rechargeable lithium batteries.

    摘要: Orthoborate salts suitable for use as electrolytes in lithium batteries and methods for making the electrolyte salts are provided. The electrolytic salts have one of the formulae (I). In this formula anionic orthoborate groups are capped with two bidentate chelating groups, Y1 and Y2. Certain preferred chelating groups are dibasic acid residues, most preferably oxalyl, malonyl and succinyl, disulfonic acid residues, sulfoacetic acid residues and halo-substituted alkylenes. The salts are soluble in non-aqueous solvents and polymeric gels and are useful components of lithium batteries in electrochemical devices.

    摘要: A transparent thermoformed thermoplastic blister has a product bubble which protrudes from a flange which is connected to a backing card. The bubble has an access opening which is selectably uncovered by a pivotable door hinged to the flange and to a hinge panel by parallel hinges, with the hinge panel hinged to the flange to define an over-center hinge arrangement. The lengths of the hinge panel and door, as well as the spring constants of the hinges may be selected to form a closure which will tend to remain opened once opened, or alternatively one which will automatically spring closed when finger pressure on the door is released. The closure may alternatively be formed in a clamshell package. The physical manipulation of the door is similar to the throwing of a light switch, and hence is readily apprehended by new users.
