Abstract: A communication management resource receives input indicating a quality of a wireless communication link between a first wireless station and a second wireless station. Based on detected degradation of the quality of the wireless communication link as indicated by the input, the communication management resource dynamically implements an appropriate repetition mode of repeatedly transmitting data from the first wireless station to the second wireless station. The second wireless station can be configured to receive a repetition settings notification from the first wireless station or other suitable entity. The repetition settings notification specifies operation of the first wireless station in a repetition mode in which the first wireless station is configured to repeatedly transmit data from the first wireless station over a wireless communication link to the second wireless station. Operation in the repetition mode enables the first wireless station to continue communications with the second wireless station.

Abstract: A first wireless station implements a listen before talk function to communicate over a wireless channel to a second wireless station. The first wireless station includes a corresponding communication management resource to manage multiple access classes. For example, the communication management resource receives multiple data packets destined for delivery over the wireless channel to the second wireless station. The communication management resource detects that a first data packet and a second data packet of the multiple data packets fall in a first access class of multiple access classes. Further, the communication management resource detects that the first data packet is marked as being higher in priority than the second data packet in the first access class. In such an instance, the communication management resource schedules the first data packet for transmission over the wireless channel prior to transmission of the second data packet over the wireless channel.

Abstract: According to one configuration, while the user equipment is wirelessly connected to a first wireless base station over a first wireless communication link, a communication management resource in the user equipment receives input (such as a request) to tune-away the user equipment to a second wireless base station providing corresponding wireless services. To facilitate the temporary tune-away to the second wireless network, the communication management resource of the user equipment generates timing information associated with the switchover. In furtherance of the switchover (temporary tune-away) to the second wireless base station, the communication management resource of the user equipment transmits the timing information in a wireless communication over the first wireless communication link to the first wireless base station.

Abstract: According to one configuration, multiple users in a tiered hierarchy share use of a wireless spectrum. For example, a spectrum access system receives a notification indicating that a first-priority tier 1 user in the hierarchy temporarily needs access to a first wireless spectrum assigned to a second-priority tier 2 user in the hierarchy. In response to the notification, the spectrum access system temporarily allocates the second-priority tier 2 user use of a second wireless spectrum. The spectrum access system protects use of the second wireless spectrum by the second-priority tier 2 user from a third-priority tier 3 user in the hierarchy. In certain instances, the one or more spectrum access systems receive the same notification of use of the first wireless spectrum by the first-priority tier 1 user. The multiple spectrum access systems not serving the second-priority tier 2 user protect the Tier 2 User from any Tier 3 Users in the hierarchy.

Abstract: User equipment receives first connection priority information. In accordance with the first connection priority information, the mobile communication device establishes a first wireless communication link between the user equipment and a first wireless network to communicate first communications. A controller/management resource provides notification of second connection priority information to be used instead of the first connection priority information. In response to detecting a trigger event in which the user equipment is operated to communicate second communications, the user equipment uses the second connection priority information as a replacement to the first connection priority information to establish a second wireless communication link connecting the user equipment to the second network instead of the first network.

Abstract: According to one configuration, a mobile communication device receives first communications over a first wireless communication link from a first wireless network (which potentially supports data only communications). The first communications received over the first wireless network can include a message indicating a pending incoming call available over a second wireless network (which potentially supports voice/call communications). In response to receiving the message indicating the pending incoming call, the mobile communication device is operated to receive second communications (such as a paging signal) from over the second wireless network. For example, the mobile communication device listens for a paging signal from the second wireless network further indicating the pending incoming call. If desired, an operator of the mobile communication device can accept the incoming call via a second wireless communication link to the second wireless network.

Abstract: A first wireless station implements a listen before talk function to communicate over a wireless channel to a second wireless station. A communication management resource associated with the first wireless station receives multiple data packets destined for delivery over the wireless channel to the second wireless station. Each of the multiple data packets is assigned one of multiple scheduling priority levels. The communication management resource uses mapping information to schedule the multiple data packets for transmission over the wireless channel. The mapping information provides a one-to-one mapping of scheduling priority levels to access class queues from which the multiple data packets are scheduled for transmission from the first wireless station to the second wireless station.
