Abstract:
The rescue device for the passengers and crew of a ship includes: a container that contains survival equipment; a system that is intended for stowing said container relative to the deck of the ship and contains at least one strap and a system for multimodally attaching and releasing said container; an airbag-type inflatable balloon set up between a structure, secured to the deck, and said container, said structure defining a passage for the passengers when needed; and a means for releasing the airbag set up on the wheelhouse of said ship. The frame-shaped structure is formed of: two side posts; a lower cradle, on which said container rests; an upper crosspiece; and a plate set up inside the ship and acting as a counterbearing for the airbag when said container is ejected.
Abstract:
To replace compositions based on CFCs or CFHCs in applications for cleaning or drying solid surfaces (in particular defluxing), the invention proposes azeotropic or quasi-azeotropic compositions based on 1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5-decafluoropentane, 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and, optionally, methanol.
Abstract:
Life raft (1) launched by davit (7) and comprising for this purpose hanging means (4, 5) able to be held in a hook (6) suspended from the davit (7), this raft (1) being fitted out with equipment comprising at least one load (102) that is heavy or heavier than the others, which raft is characterized in that the heavy or heavier load (102) is attached to the aforesaid raft hanging means (4, 5), as a result of which, when the raft is hoisted by the davit, the heavy load or at least the heaviest load remains suspended from the raft hanging means without touching the raft, and the raft, being much better balanced, occupies a more horizontal position.
Abstract:
A composition for cleaning solid surfaces, under cold conditions, in non-aqueous medium consists essentially of a mixture of alkanes or cycloalkanes and at least one organic compound comprising at least one ketone function, the composition having a flashpoint above or equal to 40.degree. C. and below 55.degree. C., measured according to ASTM standard D56-70.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a water repellent composition ( >), comprising a hydrophobic agent and a solvent compatible with the hydrophobic active agent, characterized in that the solvent comprises at least one fluorinated hydrocarbon, liquid at ambient temperature, and in that the active hydrophobic agent is a compound of organopolysiloxane type. The invention also relates to a disposable pressurized container containing the above composition and an inert gas.The invention finds application in particular in the removal of water from a surface especially the windscreen of vehicles or aircraft.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the synthesis of 1,1,2,2-tetrahydroperfluoroalkanols and their esters by oxidizing a 2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl iodide using hydrogen peroxide in a carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester in the presence of sulphuric acid.In the process according to the invention, from 1 to 30 moles of sulphuric acid, from 1 to 50 moles of carboxylic acid or of an ester of such an acid, and from 3 to 20 moles of hydrogen peroxide per mole of 2-perfluoralkyl)ethyl iodide are used.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an inflatable marine evacuation slide for evacuating people from a ship to at least one inflatable liferaft (or survival raft), as well as rescue equipment for the passengers and/or crew members of a ship, comprising at least one inflatable liferaft, stored folded in the deflated state, together with associated inflation means, in a container around which is wrapped, folded in the deflated state, an inflatable marine evacuation slide according to the invention.
Abstract:
The invention relates to means for launching into the water, from a height H greater than a predetermined height hmax, a life-saving means (1) designed to be able to be launched into the water in free fall from this maximum height hmax. One end of a halyard (4) is fixedly hooked to the life-saving means or to the launch site (2); the halyard functionally cooperates (at 7) respectively with the launch site or the life-saving means so that the life-saving means falling by gravity is braked on and/or by the halyard over at least one part (H-hmax) of its drop height. By controlling the braking effect, the life-saving means, falling from the height H in a braked manner over at least one part (H-hmax) of this height hits the surface of the water (5) with a kinetic energy not exceeding that which it would have at the end of a non-braked free fall from at most the height hmax.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a water-repellant composition consisting essentially of at least one hydrophobic agent and at least one solvent which is compatible with the at least one hydrophobic active agent, this solvent being other than a fluorinated hydrocarbon, wherein the solvent is organic compound comprising at least one oxygen-comprising functional group and in that the hydrophobic active agent is a compound of an organopolysiloxane of formula (I): where P is an integer ranging from 0 to 150 and each R independently represents an alkyl or alkoxy group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group with 3 to 10 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, an aminated group, a halogen or a hydrogen, with the condition that at least one R is an aminated group.
Abstract:
A floating inflatable device which is to be able to be inflated on the surface of liquid and which for this purpose comprises inflation means including an on-board source of pressurized gas, wherein said inflation means comprise a venturi supplied by said source of pressurized gas and capable of entraining ambient air which contributes to the inflating of the device, and wherein said venturi inflation means, being mounted on a wall of said device, are protected by protective means covering them in such a way as to allow ambient air to pass freely while at the same time preventing liquid from being able to gain entry to the device to any appreciable extent.
