    摘要: A braking system including a pre-charge with a plurality of pumps disposed in parallel with respect to one another. The pumps can direct pressurized brake fluid to the brakes during a controlled braking maneuver. The pumps operate with offset operating cycles such that a first pump is drawing fluid while a second pump is pushing fluid to the brakes. The invention provides an embodiment having three pumps operated in parallel, wherein the pumps define operating cycles offset 120 degrees from one another. The invention also provides a separate master cylinder reservoir feed circuit to improve response of the system, especially cold weather response.

The cylinder has only two apertures, and the piston is disposed in the cylinder. The first hydraulic line communicates between a wheel brake and a first side of the piston through one of the apertures. The second hydraulic line communicates between an accumulator and a second side of the piston through the other of the apertures. The system components are arranged in a compact, easy to manufacture package.

    摘要: An integrated anti-lock braking (ABS)/traction control (TC) braking system is provided which includes a controller cognizant of a rotational condition of a wheel, a master cylinder, an actuator with a bore, the bore having a first fluid connection with a master cylinder and space therefrom a second fluid connection with a brake, a first normally open solenoid valve for isolating the master cylinder from the wheel brake when the controller places the system in an ABS or TC mode, and a hollow primary piston mounted within the bore along first, second and third spaced sealed peripheries having a first port connecting the interior of the primary piston with its exterior between the first and second sealed peripheries and communicating with the second fluid connection of the bore. The primary piston also has a second port fluidly connecting an end of the primary piston most adjacent to the bore first fluid connection with the interior of the primary piston and the primary piston having a check valve mounted within the second port and the primary piston has a third sealed periphery generally adjacent the bore first fluid connection. A secondary piston is mounted within the primary piston movable in a direction towards the bore first fluid connection to pressurize the brake and movable in an opposite direction to release the pressure within the brake, the secondary piston has an extreme position with respect to the primary piston wherein the secondary piston opens the check valve and further movement of the secondary piston causes the pistons to move in unison pressurizing the wheel brake. A reversible motor connected with a gear train, drive screw and nut moves the secondary piston in response to signal give by the controller.

    摘要: A vehicle wheel brake system having a service braking section and a wheel lock control (ABS) section is provided. Under certain conditions the wheel lock control section may not be able to generate sufficient pressure to operate the vehicle wheel brakes when the master cylinder output pressure has been isolated from the wheel brakes. When such conditions occur, the displacement piston of the ABS control section moves to open a bypass valve which connects master cylinder output pressure to the vehicle wheel brake even though the ABS system has isolated it from that wheel brake. The opening of the bypass valve effectively returns the vehicle braking system to service braking until the vehicle operator releases the brake system.

A piston is slidably disposed in the bore of the pump housing, and an eccentric engages the piston to propel the fluid through the fluid flow path. An inlet check valve and an outlet check valve body are disposed in the bore for only allowing the fluid to flow in one direction from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. A filter is disposed in the fluid flow path downstream of the inlet check valve and the outlet check valve body and adjacent to a damper orifice for filtering debris from the fluid before the fluid is conveyed to the fluid outlet.

Output by the motor in a first direction places the combination valve in a first configuration, and output by the motor in a second direction opposite the first direction places the combination valve in a second configuration different from the first configuration.
