摘要: Apparatus and methods for coating elongated medical devices, such as guidewires and catheters, incorporating infrared (IR) heating tools for curing the coating while the medical devices are still in place on the coating apparatus. Coating and curing may be accomplished evenly in a dipping machine by utilizing IR heaters having heating heads with openings, the heating heads being mounted for the extension of such elongated medical devices through their openings so that the heating heads are in generally surrounding juxtaposition to the elongated medical devices. The voltage supply to the IR heaters may be selectively adjusted so as to match the wavelength of the generated IR heat to the energy absorbing capability of the particular coating solution being utilized for proper timed absorption of the infrared energy.

摘要: The present invention provides a multi-band, multi-mode RFID tag that uses a single antenna structure and integrated circuit to provide asset location information at any stage of a supply chain. The unified tag design operates at multiple frequencies (or bands) using the antenna structure, for example, 125 kHz, 13.56 MHz, 915 MHz, and 2.45 GHz, and preferably operates electrostatically (at lower frequencies) and electromagnetically (ay higher frequencies). An on-chip frequency monitor in the integrated circuit automatically determines which frequency is present and derives a local clock for the tag's integrated circuit, which can vary in accordance with the frequency or which can be constant. Alternatively, a phase locked loop circuit can be used to derive a local clock signal modulated into the interrogation signal. On-chip matching and power extraction circuits derive power for the tag from the interrogation signal, which is preferably passive. Additionally, a receiver can receive data from the interrogation signal.

摘要: In order to address the need for detection of fraudulent items, a method, apparatus, and system for detection of fraudulent items is provided herein. Special anti-forgery Radio-Frequency identification (RFID) tags are utilized with additional measures to thwart would-be forgers. Each anti-forgery RFID tag comprises a unique, or semi-unique number that, along with a private key possessed by only the legitimate product manufacturer, determines a signature that is preferably printed on the product packaging. Utilizing the unique number on the anti-forgery RFID and a public key corresponding to the private key, the signature is verified by standard public-key cryptographic methods. The validation of the signature identifies the product's authenticity.

摘要: A temperature compensation circuit (10) for a crystal oscillator programmed by a single component (12), such as a resistor. The component (12) provides a voltage to an A/D converter (26). The digital signals (28) from the A/D converter (26) are divided and directed to separate signal generators (44,46,48,50,56) which control different aspects of the temperature compensation circuit (10). These aspects include a hot, cold, linear, balance and warp adjustment. The temperature compensation circuit (10) drives a varactor (18) which reactively loads a crystal oscillator (14) to compensate frequency over temperature. By using a single component (12) to program the circuit (10), an EEPROM is no longer needed which saves IC space and reduces IC processing steps, and the use of multiple external components to perform a compensation is avoided which further saves physical space.

摘要: A system and method for allowing events in a rich object-oriented environment to be monitored by functional processes within that environment. Events can be monitored by any number of functional processes, and the monitoring functional processes can take action based upon the monitored event received. Multiple object-oriented environments are provided with each environment comprising a distributed communications manager. These distributed communications managers facilitate the monitoring of events by the functional processes. An overall communications manager is also provided to monitor the entire system.

摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of home protection devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a home protection dome device primarily comprised of at least one motor that powers a dome structure. The dome structure is comprised of a plurality of curved members that enclose and shield a home, other structure or object. The curved members can be deployed and retracted via a track within a base, wherein the track is powered by a motor. The motor may further receive power from a solar panel. The motor may also be controlled by a control panel to move the track and deploy or retract the curved members over a home, structure, or object in an enclosed manner. In this manner, the home, structure, or object is protected from severe weather.

摘要: An apparatus system, and techniques for detecting temperature change are disclosed. The system includes a temperature sensitive antenna that can be included in an RFID tag device. The antenna is associated with a temperature sensitive material that, upon being exposed to a particular temperature level over a time interval, causes at least one of a change in the resonance frequency of the antenna and change in antenna signal strength (e.g., antenna gain). An RFID reader is also provided that sends commands to the tag device and determines the existence of a temperature change based on a comparison of signal strengths received on different frequencies from the antenna.

摘要: A wet and dry towel dispenser contains and dispenses both dry towels and wet towels (also referred to as towelettes or wipes). The dispenser includes coaxially located compartments for containing the dry towels and wet towels, preferably in a nested arrangement to use space most efficiently within the dispenser. One preferred embodiment of the dispenser has a substantially cylindrical shape and a removable cover on one end to allow the towels to be loaded into the respective compartments.
