Abstract: Systems and methods of adaptive bandwidth (BW) management are provided by a control unit of distribution and central units to monitor power and traffic loads at a plurality of network nodes; a BW management unit communicating with the control unit to reassign a set of network slices with a set of smaller bandwidth parts (BWPs); the BW management unit configured to define a smaller BWP from a slice mapping for the slice reassignment during a AC power outage, the slicing mapping includes network slices tied to smaller BWPs in the network; and the BW management unit configured to adapt BW for users at the node by reassigning of at least one network slice with a defined smaller BWP at the node in response to a condition determined by the BW management unit, the condition of at least one of a AC power outage and reduced traffic load.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for improving telecommunications services by intelligently deploying radio access network components and redundant links within a data center hierarchy to satisfy latency, power, availability, and quality of service requirements for one or more network slices are described. The radio access network components may include virtualized distributed units (VDUs) and virtualized centralized units (VCUs). To satisfy a latency requirement for a network slice, various components of a radio access network may need to be redeployed closer to user equipment. To satisfy a power requirement for the network slice, various components of the radio access network may need to be redeployed closer to core network components. Over time, the components of the radio access network may be dynamically reassigned to different layers within a data center hierarchy in order to satisfy changing latency requirements and power requirements for the network slice.

Abstract: Systems and methods to utilize user device self-reported quality metrics and machine learning mechanisms to optimize management of user device mobility in a cellular network. Cells in the network obtain quality data for one or more user devices in communication with the cells, including channel-quality-indicator values, reference-signal-received-power values, and reference-signal-received-quality values. The quality data is processed by a machine learning mechanism to generate a separate quality report for each cell. In response to receiving a request to handover communications for a target user device, the quality reports are utilized to select a cell that is predicted to provide the best quality communications for the target user device.

Abstract: Techniques described herein provide pooling of radio access network (RAN) resources in a disaggregated RAN in a manner that enables dynamic re-homing of RAN functions with minimal disruption to stateful communications. The RAN is a hierarchical arrangement of RAN units, each having an associated state at any given time. A RAN state pooling system (RSPS) is in communication with a pool of the RAN units via a high-speed communication channel. The RSPS is configured to maintain an updated repository of the state information for the RAN units in its serviced pool. In the event of re-homing from a first RAN unit to a second RAN unit in the pool (e.g., due to the first RAN unit failing, becoming overloaded, etc.), the RSPS provides the second RAN unit with the updated state information for the first RAN unit to facilitate a stateful re-homing.
