摘要: Techniques described herein provide pooling of radio access network (RAN) resources in a disaggregated RAN in a manner that enables dynamic re-homing of RAN functions with minimal disruption to stateful communications. The RAN is a hierarchical arrangement of RAN units, each having an associated state at any given time. A RAN state pooling system (RSPS) is in communication with a pool of the RAN units via a high-speed communication channel. The RSPS is configured to maintain an updated repository of the state information for the RAN units in its serviced pool. In the event of re-homing from a first RAN unit to a second RAN unit in the pool (e.g., due to the first RAN unit failing, becoming overloaded, etc.), the RSPS provides the second RAN unit with the updated state information for the first RAN unit to facilitate a stateful re-homing.

摘要: Example embodiments are directed towards detecting a failure of one or more microservices of a CU-UP pod or a CU-CP pod running on a first cloud compute instance within a node group of a cluster. In response to the detection of a failure of one or more microservices of a CU-UP pod or a CU-CP pod of a node group within a cluster being hosted on a first cloud compute instance, the system automatically switches to run the one or more microservices for which failure was detected on a standby pod running on a second cloud compute instance with user equipment (UE) context corresponding to the one or more microservices for which failure was detected. The standby pods running on the other cloud compute instance are generated with anti-affinity between the CU-CP microservices of the primary CNF instance and CU-CP microservices of the standby pod.

摘要: Various arrangements for performing testing using a cellular network are presented. A distributed unit (DU) can be activated to be used exclusively for an isolated test environment. A communication path can be established between the DU and a radio unit (RU) located at a location to where the isolated test environment is located. Communication between the DU and a centralized unit (CU) can be established such that the CU is used as part of the isolated test environment. A test slice can be defined on the cellular network that isolates all traffic on the DU and RU from a production slice. The CU can service both the test slice and the production slice.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for adaptive bandwidth (BW) management configuring an element management control unit including a set of distribution/central units (DU/CU) for monitoring power and traffic loads at a plurality of cell sites in a network; communicating with a BW management unit coupled to the element management system to adapt BW for users at cell sites by moving users to a set of smaller bandwidth parts (BWPs) at a cell site in response to a set of conditions of AC power outages and reduced traffic loads detected by the BW management unit, and in response to at least one of the detected conditions, instructing based on data from the DU/CU to the BW management unit to move user traffic to a designated lower BWP of the set of smaller BWPs at the cell site while shutting down other BWPs at the cell site to save the power of an operating cell site.

摘要: Various arrangements for updating a radio unit (RU) of a cellular network are presented. A volume of cellular signals being handled by a first programmable processor of the RU and a second programmable processor of the RU may be analyzed. A determination can be made that one of the processors has sufficient available resources to handle the analyzed volume of cellular signals. The RU can cause cellular signals to be rerouted to one of the programmable processors while the other processor is taken offline for updating. The update process is performed such that UE in communication with the RU experience uninterrupted cellular network access.
