摘要： The invention provides methods and apparatuses for vision therapy procedures using laser interference patterns for relieving eye strain. One of the methods provided controls a speckle pattern in such a manner that an interesting visual stimulus is created which attracts and retains a viewer's attention and forces the eye to adjust to distance vision. This stimulates relaxation of the ciliary muscles of the viewer's eyes and contributes to the relief of eye strain. Another method provides electronically generated holograms for exercising eye muscles in order to relieve eye strain. The present invention provides further methods and apparatuses which may be used in a computer user's workplace.

A coded warning system is provided employing a detection module (320) and a signal generating module (330), wherein the detection module is configured to obtain information regarding the detection of one or more operating parameters of the lighting unit and the signal generating module generates a desired warning signal (331) selected from a plurality of warning signals, upon determination that one or more of the operating parameters are abnormal operating parameters. Each warning signal of the plurality of warning signals is indicative of a specific abnormal operating parameter or a known combination of specific abnormal operating parameters.

摘要： A system and method for controlling the surveillance conducted by lost or stolen electronic devices dependent upon the location of such electronic devices is provided. A data repository contains data that specifies, for each of a plurality of geographic regions (e.g. legal jurisdictions), a set of surveillance methods that are permissible in the respective region. At least some of the geographic regions have different respective sets of permissible surveillance methods than others. A computer system is operable to communicate with the devices over a computer network, and programmed to use received information regarding a location of a potentially lost or stolen device, in combination with the data in the computer data repository, to cause the potentially lost or stolen device to initiate surveillance according to the set of permissible surveillance methods (and/or other actions) corresponding to the location.
