    摘要: Apparatus for limiting torque to a drive line upon rotation in one direction. A rotor is connected to a rotational device within a housing selectively connected to a control for a source of rotational force for operation and cessation thereof. The rotor has a pivoted pawl which mates with an elongated groove in the housing. The pivoted pawl freely pivots in one of two directions but is prevented, by a pin, from rotating in the other direction. A small compression spring on each side of the pawl causes the pawl to re-center in the groove and permits the housing dimensions to be halved as compared to those accomodating a single, high force spring. The rotor has a pair of cam surfaces which contact a plurality of spring loaded push rods in the housing. In operation, the rotor and the housing rotate together about a common axis in either direction. However, when torque loading is imposed during rotation in a first direction, the pawl pivots and moves out of engagement with the housing groove. The rotor then rotates relative to the housing and the cam surfaces rotate and displace the push rods causing a sliding collar to activate the control for disconnecting torque to the drive line. Upon rotation of the drive line in the opposite direction, the pawl is prevented from pivoting by the pin and remains in the housing groove despite imposition of torque in excess of that causing disconnection with the drive line rotating in the opposite direction.

    摘要: A grand piano lift comprising a dolly on which the piano is placed and having a hydraulic cylinder fixed in vertical disposition to the dolly in the vicinity of each of the three legs of the piano. A piston is slidably disposed in each of the cylinders and has a piston rod extending from the piston fixed to a pedestal that contacts the floor or platform from which the piano is to be supported. An operator operated UP switch is electrically connected with a source of hydraulic fluid under pressure so that the operator can cause fluid to be applied to the cylinders from the source and so that the cylinders are effective to raise the dolly and piano. A similar DOWN switch causes this fluid to be drained from the cylinders to cause the piano to be lowered. A ball check valve prevents the undesired descent of the piano when neither switch is actuated, and a flow divider causes equal volumes of fluid to be applied to the three cylinders for the equal upward travel of the three legs of the piano when the piano is being raised.

    摘要: Disclosed is a new machine for forming strong, durable and recyclable containers of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,497,939 without the use of glue or nails which are ready to be loaded, closed, stacked and shipped. The machine utilizes a mandrel movably mounted on a path between retracted and extended positions. As the mandrel cycles forward, it first receives two synthetic sidewalls of the container to be formed, which are firmly compressed against the sides of the mandrel as it moves forward. The mandrel next encounters the body panel or wrap of the container to be formed, said wrap including a plurality of tabs along the edges of its two longer sides which correspond to locking slots on the sidewalls. As the mandrel moves forward, it pushes into the middle of the wrap whereupon a set of plows and shoes bend the upper and lower portions of the wrap into a more horizontal orientation, leaving the middle of the wrap in a vertical position. As the mandrel pushes the wrap through the machine, a set of moveable upper and lower rockers containing unique pressure mechanisms press the tabs on the horizontally oriented portion of the wrap into the locking slots on the ends of the sidewalls. When the mandrel is fully extended, pressure is applied to the tabs on the vertically oriented middle section of the wrap to form the bottom of the container using a pair of hinge-mounted pressure plates fitted with unique biased brackets.

Preferably, the minimum and maximum diameters are recorded by the gauge and transmitted from the gauge to a computer for a determination of whether the container finish dimensions fall within a predetermined tolerance range.

    摘要: A shipping and display box is provided that has stacking holes in a bottom wall and stacking tabs protruding above a top wall for being received in stacking holes of a second shipping and display box stacked on top of the shipping and display box to prevent relative movement of the stacked boxes and to align the stacked boxes and facilitate drainage of water from the second shipping and display box into lower shipping and display boxes. Drain holes are formed proximate edges of the bottom wall of the shipping and display box, and diverter tabs are formed in side walls. The holes formed proximate the edges of the bottom wall facilitate drainage of water from an upper stacked box into holes formed by the diverter tabs in the side walls of lower stacked boxes. The shipping and display boxes are in the form of truncated pyramids to facilitate the cascading of water from upper boxes down through lower stacked boxes and to facilitate air ventilation by forming air passageways when the boxes are tightly stacked on a pallet. The shipping and display box is assembled using integrally formed flaps and slots. A blank for forming the shipping and display box and a method of assembling the blank into the shipping and display box are also described.
