摘要： Apparatus for limiting torque to a drive line upon rotation in one direction. A rotor is connected to a rotational device within a housing selectively connected to a control for a source of rotational force for operation and cessation thereof. The rotor has a pivoted pawl which mates with an elongated groove in the housing. The pivoted pawl freely pivots in one of two directions but is prevented, by a pin, from rotating in the other direction. A small compression spring on each side of the pawl causes the pawl to re-center in the groove and permits the housing dimensions to be halved as compared to those accomodating a single, high force spring. The rotor has a pair of cam surfaces which contact a plurality of spring loaded push rods in the housing. In operation, the rotor and the housing rotate together about a common axis in either direction. However, when torque loading is imposed during rotation in a first direction, the pawl pivots and moves out of engagement with the housing groove. The rotor then rotates relative to the housing and the cam surfaces rotate and displace the push rods causing a sliding collar to activate the control for disconnecting torque to the drive line. Upon rotation of the drive line in the opposite direction, the pawl is prevented from pivoting by the pin and remains in the housing groove despite imposition of torque in excess of that causing disconnection with the drive line rotating in the opposite direction.

摘要： Disclosed is a new machine for forming containers of the type described in U.S. Pat. No. 5,497,939 without the use of glue or nails. The machine utilizes a mandrel movably mounted on a path for oscillation between retracted and extended positions. As the mandrel cycles forward, it first receives two synthetic sidewalls and then a deformable body panel of the container to be formed. Then a set of moveable upper and lower rockers containing unique pressure mechanisms press tabs on the horizontally oriented portion of the wrap into corresponding locking slots on the ends of the sidewalls. When the mandrel is fully extended, pressure is applied to the tabs on the vertically oriented middle section of the wrap using a pair of hinge-mounted pressure plates fitted with unique biased brackets. The resulting container is removed from the machine, which is then ready to begin another cycle.

摘要： A drumstick having a handle portion that is sanded to produce circumferentially extending sanding scratches and ridges for rendering the handle portion relatively non-slippable in the hand of the musician. The tapered portion of the drumstick on which the striking bead is formed or mounted and also the butt end of the stick having a coating of polyurethane to render them capable of taking drum or cymbal striking contact without damage and to seal these parts against moisture. The handle portion after sanding to produce the sanding scratches and ridges has a relatively thin coating of water repellent on it that will allow the musician to feel the sanding ridges while also sealing the handle portion against moisture.

摘要： The method for controlling a blowmolding machine during a process of making an object is disclosed. The machine includes a die head, a mandrel and an extruder that rotates and drives a plastic material between the mandrel and the die head to form a plurality of elongated parisons. The method comprises setting the distance between the die head and the mandrel and the rotation speed of the extruder to accomplish predetermined target values of the weight of the object and parison velocity. Plastic material is fed to the machine and the extruder is operated to form the parisons. A parameter related to the viscosity or melt index of the plastic material in the extruder is detected and the material distribution function and the speed of the extruder are adjusted in response to the parameter so that object weight and velocity of the parisons made are maintained substantially at target values.

摘要： An apparatus for forming a shipping and display box of the type having diverter tabs that extend outwardly from the box walls is provided that has a guide plate for supporting a blank used for forming the shipping and display box, a catcher plate used for holding the blank on the forming apparatus, a diverter tab lever for extending the diverter tabs outwardly from the box walls, and an actuator for urging the diverter tab lever against the diverter tabs, the actuator allows the catcher plate to be released after the diverter tabs have been extended from the box walls so that the blank can be removed from the forming apparatus. A method of forming the blank into the shipping and display box is also described.
