摘要: A conventional acorn style globe is described incorporating the utilization of LED's as an illumination source. A supporting heat dissipation plate is provided which extends to the exterior periphery of the acorn style luminaire allowing heat to transfer from the LED's directly to the exterior of the acorn style luminaire while maintaining the integrity of an acorn style globe construction. A plurality of individually orientable lenses on each of the LED's positioned within the interior of the globe allow for efficient downlight and desirable optical characteristics. Interior access may be provided through removal of the globe top to thereby provide accessibility to the LED board mounted on the heat transfer plate.

摘要: A flow cytometer type apparatus and method for analyzing a fluid, where the fluid is fed through a passageway within an optical fiber and the light is guided by the fiber across the passageway and intersects the fluid therein. The apparatus includes an optical fiber with a passageway traversing it, a channeling system to channel the fluid medium within the passageway, a light source to propagate light within the optical fiber and across the passageway, and a detection system for detecting an intensity of the light exiting the fiber. The method includes channeling the fluid medium through the passageway, propagating light within the optical fiber, and detecting an intensity of the light output. Preferably, the fluid includes small bodies, like bacteria which are analyzed by assessing the detected exiting light intensity.

摘要: Folding trimaran which is symmetrical in relation to its median longitudinal axis and comprises a central hull, equipped with a mast, and also two lateral floats, which are connected to the central hull by at least one connecting arm. The trimaran can be moved between a first position in which the connecting arms are unfolded approximately horizontally on each side of the central hull, substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the latter, and a second position in which the floats are folded along the central hull in such a manner as to reduce the space requirement. The trimaran has at least two connecting arms arranged symmetrically to define a maneuvering pair extending as far as the median horizontal axis. This pair is one on the other or separate at a place and are connected to the mast by one or two sliding carriages which can be moved in translation along the mast in order to enable the trimaran to be moved from the sailing position into the mooring position or vice versa by folding the two floats either at the same time or separately.
