Abstract: A street pole comprising an antenna section with a coaxially mounted antenna around a pole. The antenna section having a length L and comprising at least one of the following features: —suspension with O-rings wherein the O-rings are each mounted at a distance Dr of 0.5*(1−½√2)*L from a respective end of the antenna; —a fix suspension at bottom; —a reduced outer diameter of the pole at at least one end (i.e. top end and/or bottom end) of the antenna; and—one of i) an extruded cable sleeve with opening in circumference over its full length for easy assembling and to spring mount the cable sleeve around the pole, and ii) a grooved pole with specifically shaped grooves for collecting residual particles at preferred locations.

Abstract: Improvements a portable elevated lighting system that uses LED lighting elements for illumination. The LED lights are selected based upon the light transmission angle so the fewest number of lighting elements are needed to provide an even flood or focus of light from the system. A reflector works as a heat sink to remove heat from the LED lights and extend the operation life of the LED's. Thermal paste and or a thermal pad is used between the LED lighting element and the frame to conduct sufficient heat away from the LED element. Two versions are shown as a stadium light and as a circular flood light that provides lighting without shadows or bright areas. The system can be operated from a generator or solar for charging batteries so the lighting can operate self-contained without producing noise.

The one or more light sources may provide spot illumination to moving objects or pedestrians on a road surface, with the spot illumination following the moving object or pedestrians along the portion of the road surface. The one or more light sources may project images on the ground or on other surfaces. The light source may be carried by a pedestrian or on personal transport used by a pedestrian. The light sources may be stationary and provide lighting for a pedestrian street crossing.

One method includes providing a roadway light that has a housing, the roadway light having at least a ballast, an high intensity discharge lamp, a reflector, a lens removed there from, the roadway light having a legacy bracket and a legacy mount disposed in a sidewall of the housing that remain, and coupling an assembly to the legacy bracket, the assembly including at least a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) lights mounted to the heat sink, the plurality of LED lights being disposed in a linear arrangement, and a support plate that is joined to the heat sink, the support plate having a mating bracket that couples with the legacy bracket disposed within a housing of the roadway light.

Abstract: A high efficiency driver circuit with fast response is disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention relate to an LED driver that can drive a plural number of LED strings. The driver according to example embodiments includes a voltage converter stage with a feedback loop. The driver can include a speed-up circuit, and/or an adaptive output voltage control circuit, also referred to herein as an overhead control circuit. In at least some embodiments, an input inductor helps to attenuate input current ripple, which could otherwise lead to low high-frequency winding loss in other inductors. The speed-up circuit can provide current regulation of the LED strings and prevent flickering of the LEDs. The overhead control circuit can adjust the output voltage of the driver to an optimum value to improve operating efficiency.

Abstract: A LED lamp for use in an existing light fixture having an electrical receptacle comprises an at least partially optically transmissive enclosure and a base having an external size that may be the same size or smaller than an external size of the electrical receptacle. A LED assembly is operable to emit light when energized through an electrical path from the base. The base comprises a universal mounting mechanism for mounting the lamp to the light fixture. A surge protector and an electrical connector are positioned at least partially in the base and are in the electrical path. A heat sink comprises a first portion in the enclosure for supporting the LED assembly and a second portion external of the enclosure for dissipating heat. The base is connected to the heat sink.

Abstract: An LED lamp is enhanced by adding an integral control receptacle, wherein a frame structure of the lamp having a horizontal top surface is adapted by attaching a photocontrol receptacle on the top surface and wiring it for powering some pins of the receptacle and for connecting some pins for controlling functions of the LED lamp. The control may be provided by plugging a suitable controller into the receptacle. Advantageously, a metal plate may be attached between the receptacle and the lamp frame, thereby enhancing performance in ways that include heat sinking, blocking uplight, reflecting added light down and outward. Additional lighting effects may be derived from optionally shaping the plate, providing different surfaces on it, and/or attaching more LEDs on it.
